AWWKWARRDD feat Kate Na$h-FIDLAR
Kate Nash and Fidlar? Yes, please! As you might recall, dear reader, BitCandy has been in love with Fidlar since this summer. They are an LA punk band with songs about simple things, such as cheap beer and wake-and-bake-and-skating (if anyone wants to join me on such an adventure, holla at me).
Anyway, Fidlar is great, and this collaboration with English singer-songwriter Kate Nash is unexpected, yet completely on point. Her sweet, clear voice stands out among the gritty guitars and male vocals on this latest new song.
So how did these two disparate musical personalities find each other? Well, it was beneficial for both parties. Fidlar wants to promote their UK tour in December, Kate Nash wants to go in a new direction, and teaming up with a rough punk band from LA is like hurtling in a new direction in one of those fancy high speed bullet trains for her.
You might have guessed from the name, but this song is about being a socially awkward creep around the person you liiiiiike. Really. This song has become my own personal anthem. Because, you know, I’m really good at making everyone feel awkward.
