BEST EDM - WEEK 10 2015

3/3/15
Best of EDM & Electro

What’s up, dance music fiends? Coming to the pusher man this week to get another fix of the best dance music in the world? 'Cause we all know that Dance Music is your drug of choice and you wouldn’t have any idea how to function without a batch of songs so fucking awesome to keep you going. Well the good news is that my suppliers (Dr. YouTube and The Deep Soundcloud) came through for you this week. I am fully loaded and ready to help you.

NEW NEW NEW NEW from Jack U, Noisia and The King of Music — Nicolas Jaar.

SKRILLEX & DIPLO - TO U (FEAT. ALUNAGEORGE)

Say what you will about Jack U, but this AlunaGeorge track off their album that dropped this week is an absolute standout from the boys. Diplo and Skrillex were able to capture something deep and moving within their party trap vibes, with one of the most beautiful voices in the game. This is definitely the standout of the album, unless you love the Bieber collab as much as I do.

FLORENCE & THE MACHINE - WHAT KIND OF MAN (NICOLAS JAAR REMIX)

This is the best of piece of music I’ve heard in 2015 so far. You kids can have your 24 hours of Jack U livestream and I’ll take my 12 and a half minute dark brooding thumping bass dark jungle disco from the greatest musician we’ve got today. Please if you listen to any of these tracks I post ever, I implore you to have it be this one. I don’t know much, but I do know this is raw and guttural and not to be denied.

UMMET OZCAN - KENSI

Well that was unexpected. As far as Big Room goes, this has inventive sounds and completely original ideas. Plus fantastic melodies and great instrumentation. Color me impressed. Maybe I should have been paying attention to Ummet for a bit longer.

NOISIA - INCESSANT

Some vicious Drum & Bass from the always reliable Noisa. This shit hits so hard and furiously. What energy, constantly evolving, never raising you up too high and dropping you down, just reliable heavy hitting jungle to keep you up all night long.

MAKO FEAT. MADISON BEER - I WON'T LET YOU WALK AWAY

I mean if you have to, watch this video without sound. 'Cause holy shit Madison Beer is a BABE. That compounded with the fact that her last name is BEER. But if you DON’T watch this video with the sound off, you’ll find a catchy, groovy tune. Mako boys are ALWAYS reliable.

GALANTIS - GOLD DUST MIXTAPE

It would be so foolish to ignore an act at the height of their game, firing so hard on every single cylinder. Galantis doesn’t even have to release something like this. A Mixtape to go alongside their new single, "Gold Dust." No, they do it 'cause they love the work and they love their fans. So just shut up and listen.

MEAUX GREEN - WHOA

Meaux Green refers to this track as a modern rave flip of Black Rob’s “WHOA,” but i’m going to have to refer to it as a Festival Trap Flip. It’s big, it’s trap, it’s gonna get the kids hyphen. What more could you want?

THE GLITCH MOB - CARRY THE SUN (MORD FUSTANG REMIX)

The Glitch Mob bringing out the BIG guns on this remix album. First Bassnectar knocked it out of the ballpark and now Mord Fustang brings his complextro to the glitch. This shit is absolute fire and I hope it pushes Mord Fustang into the upper echelon, where he belongs.

SKRILLEX & DIPLO - WHERE ARE U NOW (FEAT. JUSTIN BIEBER)

Okay, here’s the best track on the Jack U album. Ignore that AlunaGeorge track earlier. This is the one. Skrillex and Diplo going deep and not giving one ounce of a fuck. That being said, Justin Bieber giving all the fucks while pretending to give none. Yo Justin, your girl got the biggest song in the world right now. Watcha gonna do about it? This? Okay, cool.

VAGUE WAVE - SOMEDAY

Vague Wave delivering that kind of future I can get behind. Though his sounds aren’t original, his compositions are. I’ll take cool ideas all day. Cool Ideas for President.

OKAY! SAME TIME SAME PLACE! LOL!

- KURT

About Kurt Kroeber

From deep within the murky depths of the Los Angeles River emerged a creature: 50% raver, 50% comedian, 10% Robotcop. Kurt Kroeber doesn’t own a dog, operates Soundbleed (the world’s only dance party comedy talk show rave), and is down to party with you. Come up some time and say “Hey dude!” But definitely make sure to casually drop the secret Illuminati password.
