BEST ELECTRO MUSIC - WEEK 32

8/4/15
“raving" by Dawn Ashley

Last night as I was handing out fliers to the 60,000 kids leaving Hard Summer I reminded them that summer festival season is over and it’s time to start looking towards the fall. School is going to start back up soon and then the party is done for the rest of 2015. BAH, fuck that shit. It’s 2015, there are festivals ALL YEAR LONG, BABY. We live in the party generation where the music doesn’t stop and we all get to have the most fun possible. Well that being said, what’s the most fun thing to do on a Monday? LISTEN TO BEST NEW DANCE MUSIC FROM BITCANDY, DUH. Cool, let’s get started.

New music from a bunch of new dudes. Oh yeah and Shift K3Y and Duke Dumont and Dillon Francis / Skrillex and Flux Pavilion feat. Riff Raff and Wave Racer. So yeah, awesome.

DUKE DUMONT - OCEAN DRIVE

Woah.
Holy Shit.
More Please.

Who knew Duke Dumont had brooding dark 80’s electro like this in him? Oh I guess everyone because Duke Dumont is one of the best producers in the world right now and he can basically do no wrong. I really really really can’t wait for this album now.

DILLON FRANCIS & SKRILLEX - BUN UP THE DANCE

Coming off of Hard Summer, it’d be pretty foolish to not mention the new track from two of its titans. Dillon Francis & Skrillex create their first collaboration together. It has little bits of both of them shining through, and if you’re a fan of them (and honestly who isn’t), you’re gonna like what’s going on here.

MURTAGH - NIGHT TERRORS

Here's some weird, dark, experimental club electro from Murtagh, who consistently impress. They tagged it genre, Spooky Bass! I love bass music and spooky shit. Should have released this song at Halloween and called it like “Nightmare 2015” or something. Eh, who cares… release strategy is for pussies.

KAYLIOX - NOVA

I'm surprised to see this come out on Armada, but hey, even Armin can’t fight the future. With supreme production, clean piano house and funky future basslines, I guess even the trance-heads can hear quality house when it jumps out in front of them.

RUSTIE - BRONY

Big week for Rustie, dropping a remix of Ginuwine’s Pony and then turning it on its ear to make this Brony friendly version. You know, for those full grown men who really love the My Little Pony cartoon as well as fantastic bass genre hip-hop music.

SHIFT K3Y & BORN DIRTY - MISBEHAVE

Shift K3Y and Born Dirty with a titillating video for their new house & bass banger, "Misbehave." Pin up girls sing and dance along with some of their killer wobble bass and memorable vocal hook. Shift K3Y is fast becoming one of the best producers out there and Born Dirty (project between Linden Jay and Son of Kick) are really starting to shine as well.

WAVE RACER - FLASH DRIVE (FEAT B▲BY)

Wave Racer has a new EP coming out and "Flash Drive" is the lead single off of it. This is the waveraceriest track that I could ever possibly imagine. All of his ideas are turned up to 11 and MAN it works so hard, it even incorporates the Seinfeld theme song in the middle. I’ve been listening to it non-stop for three days, and I don’t know if I’ll ever get enough.

CHIMES - PIECES

Sweet, simple, sexy and fun as hell. CHIMES are riding the line between Indie Dance and Dance Party better than most nowadays. This track jumps between the two genres seamlessly, a little bit of dance over a whole lot of indie and then switching. These guys have a vision and I like where they’re looking.

FLUX PAVILION - WHO WANTS TO ROCK FT. RIFF RAFF

Well it turns out RiFF RAFF shines brightest when he’s got one of the best producers in the game behind him. Flux Pavilion’s incredibly distinct grinding bass is awesome here and this jump-up party jam is a whole complete party in a box. We haven’t heard anything new from either of these guys in a long while and I have to say that it was worth the wait.

SNAKED - PAUL STANLEY

I don’t really have any idea what’s going on here, but this song was brought to my attention by Skrillex’s NESTHQ, and man is it a work of genius. Using Paul Stanley from Kiss’s vocal banter and some of the best guitar lines in dance music since Justice’s Civilization, this is SNAKED's first track but shows literally all the promise in the world.

I HOPE YOU LIKED THE MUSIC.

About Kurt Kroeber

From deep within the murky depths of the Los Angeles River emerged a creature: 50% raver, 50% comedian, 10% Robotcop. Kurt Kroeber doesn’t own a dog, operates Soundbleed (the world’s only dance party comedy talk show rave), and is down to party with you. Come up some time and say “Hey dude!” But definitely make sure to casually drop the secret Illuminati password.
