Best Indie / Alternative Pop-Week 37 2013
Man this upper lips stanks! Oh hey there, I’m Justin Bieber's kitty mustache and today’s PopSmut host. This week, BitCandy has selected some savory pop tracks that are strong enough to cleanse your ears from the crap you hear on the radio. Hopefully they’re strong enough to sweep me off J.B.’s face. Not that I’m complaining, the kid paid good money for my facial presence. I swear some divas are too plain weird. Let’s get to the music before this effing heat starts to wear off my glue.
Hall & Oates - I Can't Go For That (Starsmith Rework)
British producer Starsmith brings a classic 80s song back to life by adding a whole lotta bass. As once part of Daryl's luscious locks I approve of the remix.
Let Go (ft. Kele & MNDR) (Krystal Klear Remix)
Man I would do anything to be the hair on the fingers that twiddle these knobs. I took a look at Krystal Klear’s soundcloud page and fell in love. This remix here will probably not be a part of his debut EP in October, but you can catch it on RAC’s EP, Don’t Let Go, in about a month.
Krewella - Pendulum - Watercolour (Krewella ft. Evan Duffy Acoustic Cover)
I think I just saw an angel descend from heaven. Krewella with the help of Duffy took a well known EDM banger and have made it slightly better. Prepare to expect the unexpected.
Green Velvet - Bigger Than Prince
Green Velvet is taking over the dance floor. Time to put on them purple pumps, let your claws come out, and strut the streets like ‘You’re bigger than Prince.’
Janelle Monae - Q.U.E.E.N. (TheFatRat Remix)
Hang on to your wigs kids, The FatRat is back with a new glitchy disco remix. It’s my kind of nasty (in a good way).
Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball
Ah yes, the best part of waking up is seeing raw chicken legs here riding on some big balls. Absolutely atrocity. You must watch.
The Hood Internet - Fall The Time (Jeremih x Natasha Mosley x Lil Wayne x Rhye)
This is tasty, gets my hair all nice and curly. With mashups like this one above, it’s no wonder why The Hood Internet is a frequent feature on BitCandy’s PopSmut.
Butch Walker - Coming Home
Looking for an example of a true singer songwriter? Pull out your hankie’s guys ‘Coming Home’ is a tear jerker. Speaking of jerk-ers, I wonder how long it will take for Avril Lavigne to rip off this track.
The 1975 - The City
The 1975 is the next hot shit in music. ‘The City’ as well as 15 other tracks are part of their explosive self titled debut album. Grab your copy of their album here.
Parov Stelar feat. Marvin Gaye - Keep On Dancing (Official Video)
Ooh this funk-tastic! Full of electro groovy beats and Marvin Gaye vocals. who would have thunk these two different styles would work so well.
Looks like that’s all the pop goodness for you guys. Thanks for letting me stop by today. I don’t want to be late for my audition, Donald Trump is in search for a new toupee for the fall.
