BEST NEW EDM: LARONGE - THIRD AND INDIANA
Fresh and new, Laronge released their official debut track called "Third And Indiana." We Are: The Guard dissects this new song courtesy of their resident pessimist named Kenneth Tran, which is also my official name. Nice to meet you. Speaking of "Third And Indiana," I like to speak in third person. Let's get to the meat of this one, shall we?
LARONGE - THIRD AND INDIANA
Bristol-based duo called Laronge are such a new ensemble that finding information on them is harder than week-old rye bread at a crappy diner. The instrumentals reminds me of an early day Glitch Mob-type sort of electronic composition, yet the vocals bring forth much more depth to their overall sound and more akin to current discourse of alternative rock and adult contemporary. Thus, it stands on the cusp of pop and rock, but also dancing on the mature side of electronica. "Third And Indiana" mixes all of these aspects together to produce a nice and, most importantly, catchy sound that resonates with you the more you listen, because it leads to a nice buildup. Vocals are auto-tuned, but layered to great effect. The resulting product is cohesive and proper.
The training wheels are still on this one. Nothing too daring, but it does show promise. If this is their rookie track, then it bodes well for their subsequent releases.
