BEST NEW ELECTRONIC: FLIGHT FACILITIES - ARTY BOY (WITH EMMA LOUISE)
Though it might be wintertime down under, Flight Facilities proves it is constantly a red-hot summer in their home of Australia. We Are: The Guard is geared up for that 20-hour flight to the kangaroo continent, so you don’t have to.
FLIGHT FACILITIES - ARTY BOY
Hugo Gruzman and James Lyell are no strangers to the international community. Just a few years removed from being invited to a multitude of music festival stateside including SXSW and Coachella, the duo known by Flight Facilities is primed, once again, to rack up frequent-flyer miles. For their newest creation, the Aussie producers call on the vocals of Emma Louise, who was featured on their earlier song named "Two Bodies."
"Arty Boy" meshes uplifting house beats with Louise’s voice, which is well-versed in the indie pop genre. Louise’s stuttering delivery makes it really difficult to make out the lyrics. As long as you aren’t asking too many question, that shortfall isn’t much of a serious problem. Relaxing and calming, it is chill electronic music at its very best, more suitable for the lounge than large, noisy venues. Nothing too fancy, but this charismatic track is so damn charming and addictive. It is not uncommon to find yourself hitting the repeat button several times to parse together everything you just witnessed.
