Duffster's Top 11 Indie Tracks of the Week

11/15/13
Great week for mainstream, Lily Allen is back, and didn't she half make a bold return with her baggy p*ssy and all that vajazzle. Her stinging (and LOL vid) lyricism on sexualization in the music industry was sick!  Much like these tracks including Starcadian, Kids Of The Apocolypse, Circa Waves and NOC///.

STARCADIAN - HE^RT

Throw Chormeo and Daft Punk in a soda stream and pour yourself a refreshing glass of Starcadian. Brooklyn's "I make ear movies" has not just dished up that ace self-description but, his debut album 'Sunset Blood' is going to propel it's way into my favourites of the year.

This "HE^RT" visual showing his creativity, apparently made for just $200 using a cockpit & some old editing software. And his plan is to make a visual for each track, My personal fav shooting star from the album "Chinatown" is next.

VOK - BEFORE

The Icelandic Airwaves line-up is always a great place to unearth a gem. After going through the list - native electronic duo VOK are the pick of a good bunch.

YEO - GIRL

Another week, another Australian on the radar.Melbourne's Yeo is apparently known for dipping his toes in multiple genres,I wouldn't know but, Diggin' this glitchy chilled visual from his forthcoming EP.

FUTURECOP! - SUPERHEROES (AZURE BLUE REMIX)

Getting ready for the new album from the UKs Futurecop! due to drop next month, Sweden's Hybris hotshot Azure Blue has paid homage to the original with this ace remix.

CIRCA WAVES - GET AWAY

You know its a good song when your singing along to the first listen, you know its a great song when you destroy the repeat function. Put simply - this from Circa Waves is a must on any indie lovers playlist.

THE FAMILIAR - DARK EYES

Ruthy Mirsky and Mads Martinsen are the duo behind this alt-electronic project 'The Familiar' based in Brooklyn via Norway. Had this track spinning for a couple of weeks now and keep coming back to it, enough to look out for the soon to be released debut album 'Rooms'.

KIDS OF THE APOCALYPSE - EMPIRE

KOTA are back with another huge production after their superb debut "Masters Of The Sun" and the London Grammar remix earlier in the year which we featured here as a 'New Find' - Still an air of mystery around KOTA but, this adds to the beauty of it and you need to have a look at their website if not done so already, aye.

KROG - IRRBLOSS

Cousins Otto & Johan Hargne first grabbed my attention at the turn of the year, with the then aptly named "Winter Nights" and the Swede's are back on the radar with this boss track and cracking animated visual for the title track of the new EP Irrbloss.

MWTE - DEAD AND GONE

Metz trio MWTE have a Soundcloud packed with stellar tracks and sharing sets in good company with the like of Sun Glitters & Baths. "Dead And Gone" is a great introduction to their chilled electro and those peachy vocals from Camille (Grand Blanc).

DNKL - HUNT

Swedish noir, anyone? Have a look at this haunting little video starring Nis Alps and produced by Blackbloom. Gothenburg's DNKL [Dunkel] explain the lyrics are about "people chasing things in life that don't really matter" - yeah, feel that.

WILD AT HEART - SAVING MY HEART (1987 REMIX)

1987 were introduced here last month and he's at again, this time it's a remix of "Saving All My Heart" originally by 'Wild At Heart' and hard lines Azure Blue, this is much fresher version.

NOC/// - LSTLDR

Quite possibly one of my most notable 'finds' as Curator (you should try dat thang) here, was Manchester's mysterious marvels NO CEREMONY///. Can't think of a better way to close a post than with this 7 minute wonder. Written and recorded whilst on tour with 'Foals' last month in Warsaw and DEERHEADcx have provided this fitting vid of footage from the show. Just to make it even more epic? Its only a FREE fucking download to boot!

See ya next week, Keep it fresh, Keep it Bitcandy, as the saying goes.
