BEST NEW SONGS: PANIC! AT THE DISCO - VICTORIOUS

10/13/15
Panic! At The Disco “Victorious”

We’ve got two stories for the price of one for you today readers! The first is about Panic! At The Disco's fantastic new single, “Victorious.” The other is about the band’s lead singer hating a slightly older single.

“Victorious” is smashing rocker that many will call the band’s best single since “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” (foreshadowing alert!). However this ignores the empirical fact that “Northern Downpour” is superior to both songs.

Anyways, “Victorious” is a tremendous banger that P!AD frontmen Brendon Urie claims is about his own lack of athleticism. As the Vegas-native told Billboard: “I was never really great at sports..But what I missed in that regard, I made up for in passion and intensity.”

No one has ever accused Mr. Urie of lacking earnestness and intensity. Or at least not yet… Stick around after “Victorious,” and I’ll do just that.

PANIC! AT THE DISCO “VICTORIOUS”

Like a lot of famous musicians a decade into their career, Urie isn’t so passionate about the girl he first brought to the dance. Poor guy had to write a top 5 hit that launched a successful career. I feel terrible that he has to continue to perform this massively successful song.

Big ups to Lucy Dimagio for putting together this comp.

BRENDON URIE IS SICK OF I WRITE SINS NOT TRAGEDIES

Well that was a lot to take in. In case you haven’t had enough, here are the lyrics to “Victorious”:

tonight we are victorious
champagne pouring over us
all my friends we're glorious
tonight we are victorious

oh, oh, oh, oh victorious
oh, oh, oh, oh

double bubble disco queen, headed to the guillotine
skin as cold as steve mcqueen, let me be your killer king

it's hurts until stops
we will love until it's not
i'm a killing spree in white
eyes like broken christmas lights

my touch is black and poisonous
and nothing like my punch
drunk kiss and i know you need it
do you feel it
drink the water, drink the wine

oh we got to turn up the crazy
living like a washed up celebrity
shooting fireworks like it's the fourth of july
until we feel alright
until we feel alright

im like a scarf trick, it's all up the sleeve
i taste like magic, waves that swallow quick and deep
throw the bait, catch the shark, bleed the water red
50 words for murder and i'm every one of them

my touch is black and poisonous
and nothing like my punch
drunk kiss and i know you need it
till you feel it
drink the water, drink the wine

oh we got to turn up the crazy
living like a washed up celebrity
shooting fireworks like it's the fourth of july

tonight we are victorious
champagne pouring over us
all my friends we're glorious
tonight we are victorious

tonight we are victorious
champagne pouring over us
all my friends we're glorious
tonight we are victorious

oh we got to turn up the crazy
living like a washed up celebrity
shooting fireworks like it's the fourth of july
until we feel alright
until we feel alright

tonight we are victorious
champagne pouring over us
all my friends we're glorious
tonight we are victorious
