BEST NEW TRACK: LOW CUT HIGH TOPS - WE'RE ALL SHEEP
Caked with crust and fuzz, Low Cut High Tops gives us the grunge we’ve been missing from the music scene. David Burns, the one-man band, is once again sighing at our modern world with a kind of sound that is soft and rough all at the same time with his new song, “We’re All Sheep.”
LOW CUT HIGH TOPS - WE'RE ALL SHEEP
We at We Are The Guard could very well hear this at an angsty teen garage party because it has the kind of rebellious attitude that’s so inevitable in human adolescence. It’s not surprising that Burns is from Seattle with growls that can draw easy comparisons to Kurt Cobain. He thrashes his guitar while he repeats the title of the track over and over again in different octaves. It’s all pretty simple, but nonetheless very effective.
Believe it or not, LCHT only taught himself have to play and sing for his debut album in 2015. He also writes, mixes and produces his music in his own bedroom to create the perfect lo-fi sound. He has a way about him that makes us feel like he’s screaming “f*** you all” directly at us, but we don’t really mind. In fact, we’re hoping that this new song means a new album, filled with metaphorical middle fingers, is in the works.
