A.G. Cook - Money On A Gold Plate

Welcome back to We Are: The Guard, the place for the down-low on the newest indie tunes from across the globe. London-based PC Music record label just dropped two previously-unreleased tracks from distortion-specialist A.G. Cook named Money On A Gold Plate and Cos I Love U.

A.G. COOK - MONEY ON A GOLD PLATE / COS I LOVE U

Known as the founder of PC Music and Creative Director for many artists including Charli XCX, Alex Cook, otherwise known as A.G. Cook, has a knack for mixing music with styles for years. While usually working on top-notch remixes and productions from the East to the West, these two unreleased tracks stand as the calling card and feature all the chaotic nature of his compositions. "Money On A Gold Plate" sounds like an experimental jam that finds its place more at home at a party rather than a playlist for easy-listening, because it is not the most pleasant to listen to. "Cos I Love U" shares a lot of the same aesthetics as the previous track. It almost seems as though someone mashed together sound effects in an interestingly-chaotic method to produce a work of art.

That might just be the problem. If you don’t view these two tracks as art and as a practice in A.G. Cook’s musical direction, then they are nothing more than stuff to annoy your neighbors, or my case, my pet rabbit. They are works of composed art, but compared to his remixes, they do not hold a candle to those tracks. Those are just too good, and these are just too experimental.
