M83 - Moonchild

While the world waits for him to stop making film soundtracks and get on a proper follow-up to Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, Anthony Gonzales has been content to mine his past works. After reissuing his first three issues albums, he's now prepping to re-release 2005's Before the Dawn Heals Us and has released the best new video, "Moonchild," to help the promotional efforts.

As perhaps the most moving song on the record, and a hint at what was to come from M83, "Moonchild" gets some equally weird and moving imagery as well. I'm not really sure what is happening in this video or what it's suppose to symbolize. The bulk of the video revolves around a neon lit triangle and a mysterious man wearing a black hood/cape/robe-thingy. He appears to be falling the triangle, or perhaps transporting it, or maybe… I really don't know. Is this guy a jedi, or the priest of some occult? I have no idea, but I know it doesn't matter.

Both this song and the video are very affective. Check 'em out in tandem below:
