BEST NEW VIDEO PREMIER: THE FAMILIAR "ALL IN WHITE"
Hailing from Brooklyn and Tromsø, Norway, The Familiar craft alt. electro pop that's hauntingly dark yet has a shimmering pulse. According to legend, Ruth Mirsky and Mads Martinsen have never been inside the same room, but that didn't stop them from making Rooms, their breathtaking debut. Today we're happy to premier their brand new music video, "All In White."
Along with being my favorite track off the EP, "All In White" makes for some arresting visuals too. Directed and edited by Carl Christian Lein Størmer, Carl Critical to his friends, the video was shot in Kvaløya, an island in northern Norway. The bulk of the landscape is covered in white snow, save for Mirsky's black shawl and a sexy black Volkswagen, presumably driven by Martinsen. The song and imagery act in tandem to augment the paradox at the band's core. At the heart of all their songs is a shining beat and Mirsky's glowing vocals which are contrasted against the dark, brooding synths.
This is a tremendous song and an equally good video. Check both out below:
