Best of PopKiller - Week 45, 2012

Best of Indie Pop

Happy almost hump day, my little tight jean wearing hipsters. I’m sorry to announce that I lost my magic eight ball; therefore I couldn't predict who our next president would be. The good news is that I can tell you with clear certainty who made it onto this week's Bitcandy’s Best of PopKiller. And who isn' Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepson, FloRida, Ne-Yo, Sean Kingston and everyone else that makes the same song over and over and over again. Let's get started with OUR kind of pop...which is super fucking cool:

Snoop Lion - La La La (Wordy & Soulspeak Remix)

Snoop Dogg is long gone! No, he’s not dead, he just laid his rapping career to rest and reincarnated himself as Snoop Lion. While the original track is fresh, me thinks this remix is the killer ganja.

Why has it taken so long for Snoop Dogg to realize with all that weed he’s smokin’ to make a Jamaica mon album? Anywho moving on...

Icona Pop - Good For You

These two sexy bitches from Sweden keep on bringing the good stuff. They are oh so infectious. I was unable to find a good video, so I chose one with lyrics. No shame in singing along with your hands up in the air.

Fun. Carry On

Just in case ya haven't seen the latest from the Fun. trio that's getting hella nice ads at U.S. radio.

MIKKY EKKO - "PULL ME DOWN" (Prod. by Clams Casino / Mikky Ekko)

A sweet production from Clams Casino... as for Mikky Ekko, mark my words, he will be the talk of the town in 2013. If I’m wrong, blame it on my magic eight-ball. Just don’t be all surprised when you hear him alongside Eminem.

No Doubt - Looking Hot

No Doubt - Looking Hot from Matheus Fernando on Vimeo.

Tie up Gwen Stefani dressed as an Indian squaw...and point guns to her head. Nope...nothing for the American Indians to be upset about. My favorite line from the movie Ronin: "When in doubt...there is no doubt." And with this doubtful album performance, this album might be the last (unfortunately).

Dog Is Dead - Teenage Daughter

Most blogs would put this in their indie post...but this is our idea of what GREAT pop should be, especially the last minute or so of the track. FYI their debut album, All Our Favourite Stories, is available now.

Earl Sweathshirt - Chum

We’re on top of it ya’ll! Yesterday we dropped it on Bitcandy’s Best Tracks, so it’s no surprise it landed a spot on PopKiller.

Nice job on the production, Pharrell.

Ed Sheeran is hot, hot, hot right now. As if "Give Me Love" isn’t good enough, Mic Righteous has taken it to another level...eargasm!!!

Carlos Serrano & TrapZillas - Get That Freedom (Jay-Z vs. Major Lazer)

Last, but not least, I give you the perfect cherry to top your sundae. Carlos Serrano and Trapzillas pair up and create a juicy mashup. But hey, if you think there’s something better out there hit us up.

Well, that’s a wrap for this week’s PopKiller ballot... Oh, which reminds me, don’t forget to love us or hate us below!
