Duffster's Favorite Indie Picks of the Week - 36

9/6/13

A year after my first find (Bright Light, Bright Light) gained Curator status here at BitCandy, Congress (aka BitCandy) has given me the YUSSS vote to go launch some fresh tunes straight onto your generic player on a weekly basis! This week's mash includes new projects VAULTS, MATT BURN - TOM ODELL'S latest offering and something V special from creative Canadian duo FRESH N LOSH. Artwork by the amazing Pamela Tait. To the music:

-

RY-X - BERLIN

L.A based Australian singer/songwriter RY X released his Berlin EP last week with Dumont Dumont - it's fantastic, it's beautiful and a must hear!

SATELLITE STORIES - CAMPFIRE

Finnish indie outfit Satellite Stories are not new to us regular readers, they were a 'find' of mine earlier in the year in our Curator section. Here is their latest track just dropped ahead of the forthcoming album Pine Trails due out in November.

MATT BURN - KEEP IT THERE

How smooth is this Matt Burn huh? Really diggin' this debut ahead of his mixtape release. There isn't much info on the man behind this fresh R&B number other than he's from the US and you'll love it.

SIVU - BODIES

One of the UK's hottest talents right now is SIVU (ok imo) head over to his Soundcloud to hear the latest track "Over & Over" + much more goodness. However I wanted to post his epic "Bodies" video simply because this genius vid deserves more views, damn! He also supports London Grammar in the UK this fall, tasty.

VAULTS - CRY NO MORE

This is fresh and promising from new London project Vaults, little to no info available and only a few followers at time of typing this - once you hear it I reckon you'll agree this could be one to keep tabs on.

JOEL HARRIES - FOR YEARS

Wow that voice with those honest lyrics, Joel Harries may be on his second album now yet still under the radar for some reason, what a fantastic talent. I'm hooked, are you?

APRIL TOWERS - TEL AVIV

Ready to bounce back to the 80's? Dust down your BMX and that old Sony Walkman from the garage and charge around your neighborhood with Tel Aviv bleeding from your ears... I wonder if these boys have issued this in cassette? that would be awesome, failing that downloads will suffice.

TOM ODELL - GROW OLD WITH ME

This belter by Tom Odell is a favorite of mine from the current airwaves here in the UK and he needs no explaining.

FREE N LOSH - WHAT WE'LL SEE

Hold your breath! Toronto duo Free n Losh give Willy Wonka's "Pure Imagination" a mesmerizing twist and take us on a magical electronic journey through one of the finest tracks I've heard this year.
