Best of EDM & Electro

We know that our best new EDM posts are the absolute best thing in your otherwise slow and boring week. Yeah, well it is for us too. Sit around all week with nothing to do. Refreshing Facebook every five seconds to see if anything new happened — when WHAM BAM THANK YOU MA’AM — ten new banging electronic songs for you to dance to and share with your friends and pretend like you found them on your own. That’s where we step in and help — consider us a filter through all the garbage for you then to share with your rave family and take all the credit for. We don’t mind.

We’ve got the best new songs in the world for you. Please let your ear holes and brain minds enjoy these new dance music hits from Benny Benassi, Flosstradamus and Axwell /\ Ingrosso.

OWL VISION - HOLY SHIT

Owl Vision is giving us some heavy electro at a tempo we’re not totally used to. Slower than most music that sounds like this, he even goes as far as to categorize it as mid-temp. I appreciate new young upstarts combining genres and ideas that no one else would have. Owl Vision seems just as influenced by Gesaffelstein’s Techno as Wolfgang Gartner’s Electro.

ALEX SCHULZ - WAYS

The tropical house keeps going one deeper. Here Alex Schulz pulls us into the Mariana Trench, his melodic tropical house is so deep. Chill vibes for days — if only it were summer and the east coast weren’t covered under seven feet of snow. Then again, maybe this is the music to help them get through the pain.

SONIC ONE VS TWOLOUD - DRUMS

Sonic One and Twoloud are really asking the eternal question here. I was not ready for the drums. Are you?

NICHOLAS HAELG - SEDUCTION MAGNET

On first listen this track grabs me out of the gate with that twangy guitar pluck. Then it takes us all on a deep seductive emotional journey. This song is hardwired to make people horny. Smart dude, found the musical equivalent to get people into bed.

HYDRAULIX & PHASEONE - HIT REWIND (NOT SORRY REMIX)

In 2011 you couldn’t get me within 300 feet of dubstep. Now, I couldn’t be happier that it’s making a return. Filthy dubstep drops are really all this world needs — it’s better than vapid empty Big Room or *shudder* Trap. So fuck it, let’s get filthy with dubstep again… even Skream is playing it again. (just not this kind)

FLOSSTRADAMUS & TROYBOI - SOUNDCLASH

I had all but written Flosstradamus off. I knew they were excited about this track ('cause I still follow them on Social Media) but DAMN they were absolutely fucking correct to be. This track is fresh, inventive and a blast. New sounds, new ideas — the Flosstradamus boys are moving with the times. This track sounds like Baauer via Major Lazer via something way way new. Proud to see the best in trap keeping the genre alive by continuing to innovate. They can’t all be as terrible as Carnage.

JDG X SAMUAL JAMES - MUMBAI

Oaky so this is what house music out of India sounds like? I’m not crazy about the big room beat, but I absolutely love the big rave horns and beautiful Indian acapella. I know that the market is huge in India. It’s rad to start hearing the music they are making themselves. This track is clearly influenced by the kings of dance music, Swedish House Mafia… so fuck yeah. Also, this shit is #10 on Beatport right now. I’m going to expect Indian House to just get bigger and bigger.

CONGOROCK & MINDSHAKE - NOK NOK

Where you BEEN, Congorock? Taking a leave of absence from dance music? Or just playing shitty clubs across America and having people forget that you were once on top of the scene? This song is pretty fucking wild though. It’s reminiscent of old Congorock without actually sounding anything like it. Sounds like he’s influenced by the manic speed of the new class SNAILS and Botnek.

BENNY BENASSI & CHRIS NASTY - APRHRODISIAK

New Benny Benassi is worth posting whether it’s any good or not. Benny Benassi is just one of those guys that will always be relevant no matter what. Here, he and Chris Nasty are making some Future House… you know, for the kids. Props to Benny for trying to keep up with the times. You can’t teach an old dog new tricks but you can get an old dog to work with a young producer and get them to produce something that sounds slightly more original that most other Oliver Heldens knockoffs seem to.

ANNIE MAC MINI MIX: AXWELL /\ Ingrosso

I’m ready for the return of Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso. You’ll never meet a bigger Swedish House Mafia fan in your life. Here the boys give Annie Mac a little minimix to hype what is going to be a huge year for them… Headlining Coachella, Ultra and i’m sure plenty of lineups that haven’t been announced yet. Even though I can stand behind these two and the music they produce… they are absolutely out of their fucking element in the making of a mini mix. This is one of the weirdest / jaggedest pieces of music they’ve ever released. Hopping between Swedish House Mafia classics, Axwell /\ Ingrosso’s new hits and I’m in love with the cocoa. Save yourself some pain. Don’t even listen to this — just go see them SOMEWHERE this festival season. I promise it’s better than this.

THANKS 4 LISTENING.  LOVE U!
