ELECTRO MUSIC - WEEK 8
Hi, and welcome to www.bitcandy.com. You’ve made it to the destination of your dreams. I know every night you fall asleep dreaming of sugar plum fairies and tropical house remixes. We’re here to supply the soundtrack to your slumber. May all your dreams be the danciest, raviest, party they could ever possibly be. Well listen to these songs as you fall asleep and I’m positive you’ll have the most fun dreams you’ve had all year (it’s early in the year…).
Songs selections from Far Too Loud, Sloth Logic, Gina Turner & Tony Quattro and some fresh faced new kid on Ed Banger called Fulgeance. I’m listening, are you?
YOGI - SIRI FT. PUSHA T & ELLIPHANT (KRNE REMIX)
I mean the original track was an instant trap banger. Yogi, Pusha T and Elephant work together to make something hyphy and awesome. Of course the KRNE remix is gonna be a banger. Bigger and trappier and dubsteppier. Can’t ask for much more.
FAR TOO LOUD - PLANET SICK
Rip-roaring acid house baselines and grinding electro wobble heaviness. This song is heavy as fuck and just the right kind of rave. Retro sounds put together in a huge new way. Fuck, I’ll take a whole genre of this shit that I’ll be complaining about in a year.
LOYAL - HOUSE FOR YOU
Grooving house tune. This isn’t mean for a party or a warehouse. You’re not gonna groove to the heart to this one. But you are going to listen to this one with your significant other and maybe tongue kiss a little bit. This is the perfect followup to a couple binge-watching all the episodes of Love on Netflix.
KSHMR & FELIX SNOW FT. MADI - TOUCH
Cute groovy future banger from KSHMR and Madi. KSHMR can’t seem to not make hit after hit after hit. Is that a sign of the dude's production savvy? Or is it Spinnin marketing team just murdering it week after week? We'll never know!
NGHTMRE x BOOMBOX CARTEL - AFTERSHOCK (CASTOR TROY REMIX)
This is some wild swirling, psychedelic future party trap. It’s weird and it’s wild and it’s fun as hell. Go ahead #squad, keep making trap like this. Better than all the other trap out there. I’m giving credit to Castor Troy.
SLOTH LOGIC - I WILL STALK YOU, RIP OFF YOUR SKIN AND WEAR IT AS MY OWN
Maybe it’s just because I’m watching bad slasher movies on Netflix as I write this post and this song is fucking called “I will stalk you, rip off your skin and wear it as my own,” but this song is the jam. It’s a freaky, dark, chill ass beat. I wouldn’t know how to categorize it if you paid me. It just makes me EXTREMELY happy to hear something as new as this. What’s next, Sloth Logic?
KEVIN HUSSEIN - 95 FEAT. SASH BLU (PROD. BY MACHINEDRUM)
Rihanna songwriter / collaborator Kevin Hussein teams up with Machinedrum for a production that is out of this world. Groovy underlying techno r&b with Kevin Hussein rapping and singing on top. This is the breakout of a star right here. Sure, he’s been killing it behind the scenes but now he’s gonna take some of that limelight for himself.
GINA TURNER & TONY QUATTRO - AFTERHOURS
Gina Turner and Tony Quattro with the third collabo and it’s just as fire as the first two. Afterhours is the bounciest late night warehouse club track I’ve heard since Night Bass came on the market. Not only is this track groovy but it’s chill as fuck. It’s 4AM, and you’re too tired to rage, you just wanna hear good club music with your friends. Maybe you’re laying on the floor in the back of the club. Maybe you’re slumped in someone’s VIP table. Who cares!? 'Cause this track is awesome!
FULGEANCE - THE PHOENIX EP TEASER
When’s the last time we heard anything from Ed Banger that wasn’t one of their classic dudes? Is Fulgeance someone’s alter-ego, or are we just dealing with the emergence of the new Justice? This is groovy and funky and electro house with all sorts of old school samples and fresh ideas. I’m REALLY interested in hearing this full EP, because if Ed Banger’s vouching, it’s got to be great.
BASEMENT FREAKS - ELECTRIQUE
You know what, FUNK YOU if you don’t like this.
KOOL-AID MORE LIKE DROOL-AID
About Kurt Kroeber
From deep within the murky depths of the Los Angeles River emerged a creature: 50% raver, 50% comedian, 10% Robotcop. Kurt Kroeber doesn’t own a dog, operates Soundbleed (the world’s only dance party comedy talk show rave), and is down to party with you. Come up some time and say “Hey dude!” But definitely make sure to casually drop the secret Illuminati password.
