BEST NEW TRACKS: GUS GUS "CROSSFADE"

Ageless Icelandic group Gus Gus has a new record, tentatively titled MEXICO, due out this year. The first single off this forthcoming record, “Crossfade,” is a top new song.

Fresh off the best work of their career, 2011’s Arabian Horse, Gus Gus appears to be picking up where they left off with “Crossfade.” Combining electronica percussions, the type of moody synth usually associated with post-punk, and airy pop vocals, Gus Gus has created a fusion of sounds that only they could pull off. Gus Gus originally started as a film and acting collective and has undergone more lineup changes than (enter topical baseball manager here)! The band has been one the staples of the indie scenes since they started out in 1995. And since we have an unfathomable amount of readers who weren’t born in 1995, we decided to take this opportunity to introduce you to a couple of Gus Gus’s ‘classic’ tracks.
