Instagram Moments: Dreams Do Come True For Nicki Minaj

Social Media is not real life. Yet real life revolves around social media. Such is the quagmire of our times. If it’s not uploaded and shared to the masses, did it even happen?

No.

Obviously.

Here at We Are: The Guard we are committed to delivering you only REAL NEWS. With that in mind, we’ve got a round-up of all the Insta stories you need to stay inform about the world at large.

Let’s dive in.

NICKI'S ELLE COVER

Blurry fuk!

Dreams do come true, especially for the fabulously wealthy. To be clear, Minaj has earned her fame and bank account while completely changing the outlook for female MCs. And yet she still wants more, and given her talents, more was delivered.

For her Elle Cover Story next month,, Minaj was photographed by Chanel head of house, and global fashion icon, Karl Lagerfeld. For our girl Nicki, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with an artists whose work she’s long admired. For others, it was a reason to get angry.

Regardless of your interpretation of said photo shoot, it is certainly arresting. And the interview is one of the most forthcoming and introspective I’ve ever read. Be sure to check it out.

ARIANA & NICKI

In more Nicki news, she and the newly-engaged Ariana Grande are still kicking it. The above photo comes from the set of the video shoot for their latest duet “Bed”.

They say Helen of Troy was the face that launched a thousand ships. “Bed” is gonna be the music video that launched a thousand…

Actually let’s not finish that.

EROTISCH MILCH

Lot of sex appeal so far in this post. London indie pop debutants Superorganism are doing their part by giving us this sultry dairy-centric photo. Sure there’s wine and coffee involved too, but we all know where your eyes immediately went.

Also, PSA: Superorganism’s self-titled debut album is exceptionally good. Seriously, there’s a lot more there than just the insta-classic (pun not intended) Something For Your M.I.N.D. The trio is currently touring in Germany, hence the title. (Don’t plug that into a translator at work, fyi.)

KEISHA AND A SUPPOSEDLY FUN THING...

If you’re at all like me and your body is not nearly beach ready (it wasn’t ever, but that’s a different post) news that Keisha’s concert/cruise (titled Keisha’s Weird & Wonderful Rainbow Ride!) isn’t until next February is quite the relief. We’ve got 8 months to get ourselves in the best shape of our life for this rainbow ride.

LET’S GOOOOOOOOO!!!

TOTALLY GET WHAT KATY PERRY SEES IN CYN

We’ll close with something near and dear to my heart: The Cardigans “Lovefool”. To be more precise, we’ve got a badass cover of it done by CYN, aka .

If you need me, I’ll be switching between watching this and the original video until my eyes bleed.

Calvin Paradise is not any one thing. The half-hearted vagabond and forgetful luddite currently resides in Los Angeles and how he spends his time is none of your damned business.
