LANA DEL REY & THE WEEKND - LUST FOR LIFE (VALENTINE & ROB ARAUJO REMIX

youtube Music enthusiasts and reviewers tend to view Lana Del Rey as a polarizing figure. You don't know whether to embrace her sounds or discount her stuff as hipster hogwash. “Lust For Life” is the former, as it also helps that an ensemble backs her otherwise minimalist approach. Lana Del Rey's rather translucent vocals meshes extremely well with the sultry falsetto style of The Weeknd. The Weeknd, born Abel Tesfaye in Toronto, Canada, is no stranger to the world of popular music, as his hugely successful sophomore effort, Beauty Behind the Madness, was followed by an equally acclaimed Starboy.

While the original composition appeared to be a match made in heaven, the remix takes this and pushes it into the stratosphere, patching up any inadequacies with a plucky electronic rehashing of the instrumentals. Though it might have taken away some of the allure of inherent sexuality given off by the original, the charms are all still there, enhancing an otherwise lovely song. The verdict: It sounds absolutely fantastic. This is not the first rodeo for Valentine and Araujo, as the two friends have worked together before, but this one makes you yearn for more sooner rather than later. If you enjoyed “Lust For Life,” you will absolutely love the remix.
