Mayer Hawthorne "Crime w/ Kendrick Lamar"
I've often wondered why other MC's rap on the same track as Kendrick Lamar. I mean, why go out of your way to be one-up'd? Mayer Hawthorne has the right idea. He partnered with Kendrick for today's best new track, "Crime," and instead of featuring the reigning king of hip hop, he says the track is simply with Kendrick Lamar.
"Crime" first appeared on Hawthorne's latest album, Where Does This Door Go?. The track was our favorite on the record when we listened to it when it came out in July, but today Hawthorne released Kendrick's edit of "Crime." There isn't any real discernible difference between the two, musically speaking. But Kendrick's edit features a whole lot more Kendrick, which is always a good thing. Hear it for yourself.

And here's the original cut:
Where Does This Door Go? is out now via Universal Records. In (somewhat) related news, Kendrick Lamar continues to wreck shit.
Thanks for stopping by Bitcandy, where we just want to party. We don't mean no harm.
