NEW EDM - WEEK 50
We’re in that lull of December where there’s not that much happening. New Years is right around the corner, so we should all probably just stay inside and save our pennies until 2016, right? Because once January comes we’re full steam ahead on raves and dancing and music. Coachella and Ultra lineups around the corner, new artists premiering new music, getting us ready for festival season. Jesus, I can’t wait for summer. Is it summer yet? Fuck me. Well, shut up, subconscious. Let’s celebrate. Party in our homes with our friends and loved ones. We can have dance parties every night, with just these magical TUUUUNES!
Nu-tunes from Hi-Lo, I SEE MONSTAS, Dave Harrington and Tiger & Woods. AWESOME WEEK! AWESOME SAUCE!
DE HOFNAR X GOODLUCK - BACK IN THE DAY (RADIO EDIT)
Well we live in a time where we’re going to get at least 16 solid-ass tropical house songs every week. This one has got good vocals and great horns and it comes out on Armin van Buuren’s label. Huge hit, guaranteed. I don’t even know anymore.
BROOKS - PINBALL
Shit, same goes for future house. Tropical and Future house is the new Progressive and Trance. At least this one goes for the darker styles of future. You know, like an Isaac Asimov short story.
JACQUES JAMMS - WHALE SONG
A weird funky track featuring whale samples from an artist with only two tracks and way too few followers. Let’s change that, huh? This track is something special and unique and let’s keep tabs on this dude and watch him blow up right before our eyes and say we were there then.
KINETIC - LIVING THE ILLUSION
Drum & Bass & Soul. Soulful vocals over hard hitting electro bass and and rapid, jump-up, drum & bass drum line. Sometimes your editor stumbles on great tracks that no one else on the internet has and you thank God for the internet.
SBTRKT - NEW DORP (DAVE HARRINGTON EDIT)
Here I am, living like an asshole without the internet for the past couple of weeks only to find out that Dave Harrington has been releasing a 12 Days of remixes for the holiday season. Dave Harrington is the other half of the greatest electronic psych act of the new age, Darkside. He’s dismissed by many as second fiddle to Nicolas Jaar, here he’s proving that maybe he’s got more worth than people are giving him credit for. Making darker and weird SBTRKT’s already dark and weird track, New Dorp, New York.
ESCORT - BARBARIANS (TIGER & WOODS REMIX)
A heavy italic-disco remix of the 17 piece live electronic act from Brooklyn? Oh my god, this is some weird disco loving pilot’s wet dream. Why’d I go pilot with it? I don’t know, pilots love disco, right?
HI-LO - OOH LA LA
Oliver Heldens gets it. He gets that unfortunately in 2015, if you want to make any different kind of music from the kind you were already making you better to do it with an alter-ego otherwise people would confused. All you need is some branding and a man bun. This G-House infused future bass is a lot of fucking fun and it’s proof that Oliver Heldens is going to be around in some form for many a year.
909 TIL INFINITY - BEE
Psycho Disco, Treasure Fingers new label, is putting out FIRE with every release. Here, 909 Til Infinity’s track Bee has got so much dark disco funk it’s about to pop. That compounded by a a great hip-hop breakdown. This song should be unstoppable this winter. Let’s groove this shit out together. The B-Side Dee ain’t no slouch either.
BOTNEK & I SEE MONSTAS - DEEPER LOVE
I plum forgot that both Botnek and I See MONSTAS existed, and I used to LOVE both of them. This track takes the drum & bass and soul of MONSTAS and adds in Botnek’s hard-hitting rage electro. I love to see a beautiful collaboration come together like this!
DIRTYBIRD PRESENTS: WILL CLARKE & BILLY KENNY EXCELLENT ADVENTURE MIX
The two newest and best dirty birds are going out on tour together and they gave us an awesome booty-house, funky party mix in preparation for it. I’ve got so much love for Will Clarke & Billy Kenny and this just ramped it up to 11,000.

About Kurt Kroeber
From deep within the murky depths of the Los Angeles River emerged a creature: 50% raver, 50% comedian, 10% Robotcop. Kurt Kroeber doesn’t own a dog, operates Soundbleed (the world’s only dance party comedy talk show rave), and is down to party with you. Come up some time and say “Hey dude!” But definitely make sure to casually drop the secret Illuminati password.
