Best Tracks: The Crystal Method "Lucian"

8/29/13

It took some unusual circumstances for us to finally have an electronica best new track. And while most of you would likely call "Lucian," the new song by The Crystal Method, EDM, we prefer the original name of the genre.

Or at least it was called electronica when we got into it...

"Lucian" was commissioned by Riot Games for League of Legends. The track itself is pure, focused energy and a nice reminder to everyone that there's more to an electronic song than just the drop. There's tempo changes and vision here that is so often missing in most EDM. Instead of being mostly disorienting, the track pumps you up. After a couple runs through I felt like I could have run through a gawddamn brick wall. Hear it for yourself below.

Listen to The Crystal Method "Lucian" right effing now:

If you're unfamiliar with League of Legends, it's a free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena game that is a spinoff of Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. I don't really understand anything I just wrote, so here's a trailer for the game:

You can download "Lucian" for free over at the League of Legends soundcloud page.

As for The Crystal Method, their Community Setvice Sirius XM show is still going strong, and they've got some shows forthcoming this fall.

Thanks for stopping by BitCandy, where we're always posting top dance songs whether we call them EDM or Electronica.  Long live TCM!
