Happy holiday to the loyal readers of We Are: The Guard. Two Friends is a group who already has a bunch of singles lined-up for the coming year, but the talented duo just dropped “Just A Kid” to whet the public's appetite in the midst of a cross-country tour.

TWO FRIENDS - JUST A KID

soundcloud Based in Los Angeles, Eli Sones and Matt Halper are two producers who started as musical mixologists into the promising duo who are aptly-named Two Friends. Joining them is the social media-savvy musician known as Kevin Writer, who provides the voice to lyrics to this bubbly pop track. But as we dive deeper into their collaborative song, the guys are not the only draw to “Just A Kid.”

The premise of “Just A Kid” is simple enough, a song that embodies the spirits and naivety of the childlike gaze. Emerging from a concept of highlighting the children and activities of United In Harmony, the song as well as the music video have the organization's influence circulating in the essence of this inspiration track. Through the synthesized beats, smudges of guitar, sprinkles of percussion, and catchy hooks, Writer is backed by the choral styling of the children, who admirably add much of the emotional to an otherwise typical pop number. Like those ASPCA commercials in the middle of the night, it is hard to feel a little moved by their agenda. Indeed, who doesn't like helping puppies and youth?
