6/13/14

And so here we meet again at the point of no return. You have entered the not so secret world of BitCandy. Let it be known that our addiction to pop music is something we will never give up. They may take our booze, our chips, and our glow sticks, but they will never take away our awesome taste in music. Cheers to you fellow tastemakers, this list is for you. Click play, and make sure to share the love with your friends. **Burp** Okay think I need to lay off the sizzurp. To the music.

KIMBRA - 90S MUSIC [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO]

Kimbra has taken a dump on everything I loved about the 90s. She’s a freaking hot mess and I love her for it. After several listens you realize that the composition is actually quite genius. It’s like k-pop meets the 90s.

YOUNG RISING SONS - HIGH [OFFICIAL VIDEO]

Immerse yourself in "High" above. It’s a track that will take you on a new path of enlightenment. This is just the beginning for the Jersey boys and they’ll hopefully be having more mood elevating music to come.

PHARRELL - GUST OF WIND (FT. DAFT PUNK) (AUTOGRAF REMIX) [FUTURE SUMMER. ISSUE 1]

I’m not sure what kind of summer Autograf is expecting, but I want to be a part of whatever they got going on. It’s a sunkissed remix perfect for ear fapping. You can download the track for free above on the soundcloud link, and stay tuned for Issue 2.

FRONTIN’ - PHARRELL FT. JAY Z (DISCLOSURE RE- WORK)

Another heavenly coated house remix from brother duo Disclosure. So freaking sensual and a driving beat that it makes anyone listening feel like they are on the verge of exploding.

DRAKE - 0 TO 100 (GRANDTHEFT BOOTLEG)

Drake has reached new heights in our book, thanks to the help of producer Grandtheft. The bass is crazy and that drop....ugh. This is today’s panty creamer.

MARIAH CAREY - YOU’RE MINE (ETERNAL) (GREGOR SALTO & FUNKIN MATT REMIX)

Hats off to Gregor Salto and Funkin Matt for delivering a product that the fabulous Mimi and all her little lambs approve of. All funk without losing the glitter.

RUDIMENTAL - GIVE YOU UP FEAT. ALEX CLARE

One of the most powerful, peculiar voices out there at the moment has got to be Alex Clare. So you could only imagine my excitement when I heard about his collab with one of the most promising acts to have emerged in recent times. "Give You Up" is taken from their album, Home, available here.

TIM VOCALS - LOOK BOTH WAYS [PROD BY BAAUER]

What’s more of a shocker, Baauer producing this gorgeous track or Tim Vocals hitting this track out of the park?! Both! Ha. That was a trick question. By what I’m seeing around the internet, RnB artist Tim has caught everyone by surprise, and to me, his style solidifies him as an act to follow.

MARIAH CAREY - EMOTIONS (F ∆ U X E REMIX)

F ∆ U X E’s ambient sound first hit our scene back in 2012. Since then, we’ve been checking in to his haunting world frequently to see what delicious goodies he’s put out. His latest remix is still trippy, but it’s more upbeat than previous productions and it’s definitely not suited for those with a closed mind.

MIGHTY FOX - WILD ONES

What’s so great about Chicago  alt-rockers Mighty Fox? It’s got to be the vocals or perhaps it’s the arena sound that draws me in. I can’t put my finger on it, but they’ve got that magical potion that forces one to listen. Grab your copy of their promising EP, Oceans, set to release June 24th, 2014.

MANICANPARTY - FOOLS GOLD (FEAT. TOO MANY ZOOZ)

Featured as a best new track of the week, Manicanparty. It’s got the making of a pop hit. And as far as the top songs of the week, this one takes home the cake. I could listen to Jess Corazza’s voice for an eternity.

PARTITION GLOW (BEYONCE x BROTHERTIGER x KEEP SHELLY IN ATHENS) [LOBSTERDUST MASHUP]

This mashup is off the scale good. Lobsterdust knows how to arouse me way too well.

And on that note, that’s my cue to bounce and get out of here. Need to jump in the shower and cool off. Thanks for scrolling through to the end. We’ll be back with more tunes for you soon.

About Beca Arredondo

Beca Arredondo is easily unamused with all things not related to her interests. On her good days you can catch her avoiding the California sun and glued to her Mac plotting the next big thing. If you happen to run into her on the street and notice her wearing headphones do NOT disturb her. She is not responsible for any possible damage. Aside from the above she's very sweet and perky and responds well to good music and food.
