BEST ALTERNATIVE POP - WEEK 7 2015

2/12/15

Madonna, who’s looking like a stunning look-alike wax figure, and the British band version of Queens of the Stone Age top this week’s list of the Top Alternative Pop Songs. Where else can you get your fill of booty bouncing beats and face melting indie rock?! NOWHERE other than here on BitCandy, biatches. I feel so pumped and ready ready to roll. Let’s get this playlist started!

MADONNA - LIVING FOR LOVE

Madonna agreed to put the Devil front and center of her next music video in exchange for an unlimited supply of silicon. Guess we’re going to have to be ok with seeing her rub her gentiles for another two decades.

ROYAL BLOOD - OUT OF THE BLACK

I wonder how much Snickers paid Royal Blood for the production of this awesome video. And if Snickers hasn’t done a deal with the band, they should...best video advertisement ever.

JUNGLE - JULIA

Familiar characters come into play on the latest video for Jungle’s single “Julia.” Disco vibes and funky dancing, Jungle knows how to set everyone’s mood to chill.

KWABS - PERFECT RUIN

Another impressive single from Indie crooner Kwabs. Strong luscious vocals and glistening backdrops are powerful enough to give the coldest of hearts goosebumps. Can’t wait to hear more.

EXGF - WE ARE THE HEARTS

If big sound is what you’re looking for, then look no further than the refined sound of EXGF. File this one under sophisticated pop.

LOLA BLANC - LIKE BEYONCE (PROD. 10K ISLANDS)

Having already written for Britney Spears and other starlets, Lola Blanc is making her own set of waves in the pop genre and we are loving her statement. Her single, "Like Beyonce," makes it clear that she carries all the elements needed to make catchy pop hits.

TAYLOR SWIFT vs NINE INCH NAILS - SHAKE IT OFF (THE PERFECT DRUG)

I swear to you this is the only internet you need to see today. It’s so awful it works. WTF is up with that gotee?! The 90’s were so weird.

INDIANA - ONLY THE LONELY (FRED FALKE REMIX)

The sound of the electronic rework given to “Only the Lonely” is exciting. I use exciting because of the heavy electronic synth sound used throughout the single. It’s a perfect accompaniment to Indiana’s soft angelic vocals.

BIG SEAN FT DRAKE & KANYE WEST - BLESSINGS (JUSTice EDIT)

Bay Area producer JUSTice brings something that the original track missed. His production tightens up everything and gives a sharp hard sound, heightening the song to its max.

POLO - BILLIONAIRE

Closing out this week’s post on the chill side. Get ready to have your body melt like butter as you float through the Polo’s airy remix. Be warned that Billionaire is a tease; it cuts off just as you start to settle into the beat. Polo is giving my ears major blue balls.

That’s all for today. If you liked what you heard, make sure to show your support by sharing the playlist with everyone you know.

About Beca Arredondo

Beca Arredondo is easily unamused with all things not related to her interests. On her good days you can catch her avoiding the California sun and glued to her Mac plotting the next big thing. If you happen to run into her on the street and notice her wearing headphones do NOT disturb her. She is not responsible for any possible damage. Aside from the above she's very sweet and perky and responds well to good music and food.
