8 Top Chillwave Songs - Week 31 2013

8/2/13

And so we meet again, for yet another installment of the top chillwave songs of the week! In all honesty, we almost renamed this entire column after Postiljonen, since it could have easily been solely dedicated to their debut album, Skyer, but more on that later. Thanks to our Curators who helped us out with this week's picks. If you would like to become one of those, then click here!

Postiljonen “Atlantis”

Sweden's Postiljonen, aka BitCandy's official new favorite artist to chill the fuck out to, are bringing saxy back, yeah. “Atlantis” is taken from Skyer, which you can listen to in full, over at Soundcloud.

Black Moth Super Rainbow “Psychic Love Damage (Night Sequels Remix)”

While Tobacco is busy being a “Demon Queen” with Zackey Force Funk, Night Sequels have come along to fill your Black Moth Super Rainbow shaped void with a remix of “Psychic Love Damage.”

Jungle “Drops”

Mr Suicide Sheep describes this as “like a gorgeous combination of James Blake and Jai Paul,” and we have to agree. This is more laid back than “Platoon,” the video for which we are yet to get over.

Pillar Point “Dreamin' (The Ruby Suns Remix)”

New Zealand collective, The Ruby Suns, have uploaded this dreamy reinterpretation of the already dreamy, “Dreamin'.” If you are still with me, listen to the Pillar Point original, over at Soundcloud.

Joe Hertz “At Your Touch”

Brit producer, Joe Hertz, brings together his wide range of “global” inspirations, including Balearic house and soul, on debut single, “At Your Touch,” described as “music for the modern generation.”

Naxxos “Anyama”

Naxxos have been together for less than a year, and they already have over 8000 likes. They keep the vibe going on “Anyama,” which samples Julian Treasure's TED talk, 5 Ways To Listen Better.

Shigeto “Olivia”

Zach Saginaw, aka Shigeto, returns with “Olivia,” which was inspired by the street that the Detroit native grew up in, and is taken from the album, No Better Time Than Now, which is out in August.

Sailor & I “Tough Love (Pablo Nouvelle Remix)” (Curator Beca)

Switzerland musician, and occasional filmmaker, Pablo Nouvelle, rotates the “heartbreak” dial to 11 on this reinterpretation of Sailor & I's “Tough Love.” Gulp, check out the original, over at YouTube.

Duke Dumont “Hold On (Feat. MNEK)”

Duke Dumont teams up with the 18-year-old Brit songwriter, MNEK, on his new track, “Hold On.” MNEK brings down the joint. This is a talent in the making here, you guys. Just check out this hair.

Serge Gainsbourg “Ballade De Melody Nelson”

Closing down the week with a vintage oldie from Serge Gainsbourg. “Ballade De Melody Nelson” is taken from the French casanova's Histoire De Melody Nelson. Stop everything and take a listen.
