Best Electro / EDM-Week 15 (12 Tracks) 2013

4/9/13

How’s everyone out there doing? Probably better now that you’re here, listening to the top dance songs the internet has to offer. We have a big variety this week from Krewella, GTronic, Chainsmokers and more...covering genres from electro to deep house, so give em a listen.

Also as part of an ongoing series leading up to the release of their new album, Daft Punk have been releasing a series called “The Collaborators,” which interviews famous producers and other music types, who have helped create the new album, Random Access Memories. The latest video features the very famous Todd Edwards, where he discusses the “west coast vibe” of the new album. Check out the first installment to hear from one of the men who helped shaped disco, Giorgio Moroder.  Now on to the tunes!

Electro/Electro House

Morten Breum - Larva (Far Away) (Pegboard Nerds Remix)

Who doesn’t love that screaming synth line?! NOBODY, THAT’S WHO. This track takes a delicious turn from the 2/2 cut-time dubstep beat to a cut-time punk beat.

TRACQUES - MOTOR

Two new previews from Boys Noize Records, this time from Tracques, AKA Jacques Lu Cont. Both bring exactly what we’ve come to expect from BNR: distorted leads, booming bass, and a techno edge.

Krewella vs everyone!  Guilty Pleasure (3LAU Re-Edit)

Holy mashups, Batman! It’s like 3LAU just skipped around his iTunes, picking songs at random to add to this one.

GTRONIC - Morpheus & Dufus EP (Teasers)

8 teasers equals out to be a normal track, right? Good, cuz here are three originals from GTRONIC, plus five remixes. While there is a huge variety of sounds here, even amongst the originals, expect a lot of growling bass.

Melodic

Daughter - Medicine (The Chainsmokers Remix)

Fantastic remix, keeping the haunting quality of the vocal track, by Elena (from Daughter) while amping up the instrumentals. Great stuff, Chainsmokers! Don’t forget to grab the free download of this, and other Chainsmokers’ tracks. All you need to do is ‘like’ them.

Gemini & Greta Svabo Bech - Fire Inside (Lonely Hearts Edition)

House

The Black Ghosts - Forgetfulness (FAKE BLOOD Remix)

Fake Blood is back with a new remix. It has the old school simplicity that Fake Blood does so well.

Kissy Sell Out & Machines Don't Care - Ready For The World Ft. Elliot Chapman (Original Mix)

Old meets new in this glitchy house track.

Firebeatz - Yeahhhh (Available April 15)

Firebeatz only makes bangers, “Yeahhhh” is no different. This track has it all: a characteristic long build up, stuttering snares and shuffled beats, to a huge drop precipitated with a vocal sample. Expect to be hearing more of this track around the club scene when it’s released next week.

Bass

Bobmo - Sonic Soul EP (Teaser)

Teaser EP that covers a wide spectrum of sound.

Touch Sensitive - Show Me

Fittingly submitted under the label “strings for miles,” this mellow groove uses a staccato bass to offset the long string tones. Coupled with light offbeat synth offbeats, this smart, smooth track is perfect for taking it easy, cruising the streets, or losing yourself in a haze of blunt smoke.

Dirtybird- Justin Jay - Static [Preview]

Here’s some easy listening for you to chill out to at the end of a long day. Great stuff off of Dirtybird, reminding us that electronic music doesn’t have to have crazy breaks, drops, and bass.
