Best Electro House - Week 18 | (10 Bangers!) 2013

4/30/13

Techno, electro, house, EDM. Whatever it is you need, we have it here for you. Once more, it’s bitcandy.com’s Best of Electronic, so get ready to move your body. As usual, Uncle Flex and Glitch waded through the rising tide of boring, monotonous dance music. We’ve filtered out what we think you should hear, and left the rest for those other blogs.

Rex The Dog - Bonn

Strong candidate for video of the year! Not actually, but it’s a cool new B side from Rex The Dog. The track, “Bonn,” is hard to categorize beyond the phrase “cool.” It has an overwhelming sense of electronica, laying waves of sound upon each other. Imagine the weirdness of Mr. Oizo mixed with the melodies of Siriusmo.

The Bloody Beetroots - Dimmakmmunication

Here’s an old one from the Beetroots that went up on Dim Mak’s soundcloud the other day. What was the first rave you heard this at?

Tobacco & DEMON QUEEN "Rude Boy (ft N8NOFACE)"

You might be listening to this, saying to yourself, “That sounds a lot like Black Moth Super Rainbow.” Yes, yes it does. That’s because Tobacco, half of BMSR, has teamed up with Zackey Force Funk to form Demon Queen. Loads of cool sounds going on here. Finally, more good music to trip balls to!

Bonobo: First Fires [Feat. Grey Reverend]

Here’s a video from Bonobo’s latest album, The North Borders. The video for “First Fires” stars two lovers who, while facing the melancholia of a dying relationship, reminisce in the moments of blooming love.

Duke Dumont ft. A.M.E. - Need U (100%) [Official Music Video]

Sure, we posted this video recently under our “best video” post. But hell, who doesn’t want to see it again. The old school dance feel is too catchy to say no. The vocal line brings me back to a time when EDM didn’t exist.

Jon Hopkins "Open Eye Signal" (Official Music Video)

Simple, yet engrossing. This video follows a teenage skateboarder as rides along the changing landscape. The music is minimalist but very enjoyable.

Deorro - Elevation EP (Teasers)

Check out this new EP off of Dim Mak, from Deorro. There are five tracks, each striving for a different style of EDM.

Noisia & The UpBeats - Loudmouth

Need to get through traffic faster?  Need to do something crazy?  Need to get the neighbors to call the police?  We present this amazing track "Loudmouth."  What else do you expect besides face melting brilliance from Noisia.

La Fuente - Matador (Official Music Video)

Sounds much better when you aren’t watching the cheesy bro and bitches video.

PIXL - Astrocat (Original Mix)

Mark Knight - Your Love (Original Club Mix)

Great stuff from Mark Knight of Toolroom Records. We’re getting more and more convinced that techno is what’s going to save dance music from going over the deep end. This track is a straightforward, ass moving groove that doesn’t need any modern gimmicks to make it work. If you couldn’t figure it out, that sample is Kylie Minogue.
