4/25/18

What happens when you decide to take a break for an entire day to escape the noise around you? Errrything happens. But that’s ok because with us around you’ll be caught up in no time. In fact you’ll be sending us love letters thanking us for our awesome organic, pesticide free indie pop songs selected this week. And yes, yes I am being completely biased but by the end of this post you’ll be able to show off your impressive music taste with the world. Now go on and get you some! Enjoy the latest from Dillon Francis, Duke Dumont, Sophie Simmons, and more artists that you need to listen to now.

SOPHIE SIMMONS - BURN ME DOWN

I love secrets, don’t you? Especially when they are in the form of audible gems like that of Sophie Simmons. Except that in this case, Sophie is not so much of a secret since she’s lived in the spotlight all of her life being that her dad is none other than Gene Simmons. But her sound does come as a surprise! Enjoy her latest single “Burn Me Down.”

RESIDENTE, DILLON FRANCIS - SEXO FT. ILE

Dillon Francis is going all in with his Spanish album. The third single from the untitled album features rapper Residente and sister iLe.  “Sexo,” a track that is too dang hot to translate will get you dancing and grinding to naughty lyrics and a banging beat (yes, the pun was intended).  Now if you were to ask me this is perhaps the classiest way to talk about SEX.

MUKI - GOLD OXYGEN

Australian pop singer has got a bag full of sass and swag to back her talent up as a contender for being a breakthrough act. One listen to her latest release “Gold Oxygen” and you’ll be burning your bras in support of Muki and her bold character. Get your hater shades ready and move to the infectious beat above.

JANELLE MONAE - I LIKE THAT

Janelle Monae is giving me some crazy awesome vibes this year. This is Janelle 2.0, She’s got an attitude that brushes off the haters and some hawwwt new music that sounds good all around. Turn this one up loud and don’t be shy with singing along to the lyrics  “I remember when you laughed when I cut my perm off and you rated me a six. But even back then with the tears in my eyes I always knew I was the shit. "

CARDI B - I DO (FEAT SZA)

Now I know this isn’t the Best of Instagram column, but when the drama is good I can’t help but share it. I’m talking ‘bout how SZA and Cardi B showing strong female bond. See the Instagram post below and pay attention to what real friends do for each other.

DUKE DUMONT, EBENEZER - INHALE

A sloth, a freaking sloth! That is all you need to know and the only reason to watch “Inhale” all the way through. Ok so perhaps the breezy summery beat is what really carries you all the way through to the end, but the sloth, he/she is the real star if this entire production.

GRYFFIN - WINNEBAGO FEAT QUINN XCII AND DANIEL WILSON

Ah yes, Summer must be right around the corner because everyone right about now is putting out their warm inviting vibes like Gryffin who seems to have been bit by the bug because he’s sending some pretty chill vibes our way with the reggae influenced single “Winnebago.” rid yourself of your worries, grab a cold one, and melt into your hammock.

J. COLE - KEVIN’S HEART

Most people when they screw up big with their significant other, i.e. cheating, usually don’t go as far as starring in a music video to admit that they’ve effed up. But Kevin Hart seems to think that going big on J. Cole’s video for “Kevin’s Heart” is the way to go to declare his naughty behaviour.

TOP BUNK - FIGURE IT OUT

I leave you with a debut single from newly formed group Top Punk. Think of these guys like the future Brockhampton, except they don’t sound anything like Brockhampton, they don’t even sound like them … come to think of it YOU let ME know what “Figure It Out” sound like.

Thank you all for stopping by, Gotta run over to Spotify and add these tracks to our playlist. Speaking of, be sure to follow us on Spotify and be in the know about the newest and best indie pop songs.

Beca Arredondo is easily unamused with all things not related to her interests. On her good days you can catch her avoiding the California sun and glued to her Mac plotting the next big thing. If you happen to run into her on the street and notice her wearing headphones do NOT disturb her. She is not responsible for any possible damage. Aside from the above she's very sweet and perky and responds well to good music and food.
