Best Indie of the Week - (Week 41) 2012

It's Monday, so that can mean only one thing! LA Music Blog, BitCandy, are BACK with Best of Indie, bro and broettes! So grab your skinny ass pants and scroll on down for the BEST indie cuts of the week! We got CHVRCHES! We got Foxygen! We got Bad Books! We got Balam Acab! We got Justin Bieber (JOKEZ)! We even got fucking Death Grips! So take THAT, Epic Records!

CHVRCHES “The Mother We Share”

We LOVE this new single from Scottish electro-pop trio, CHVRCHES! We recently featured it as a Best New Track, here [!

Freedom Fry “Earthquake”

One French girl + One American guy = Freedom Fry, who we first featured as a New Find in August! Fun fact: this song was written and recorded right after a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck NYC. Gnarly!

Foxygen “Shuggie”

A new jam from Jagjaguwar's Foxygen! This slice of psychedelic soul is lifted from the band's forthcoming album, We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic. Most egotistical album title, EVER!

Post War Years "All Eyes (James Yuill Remix)"

So this dropped in December, but whatever, we STILL adore James Yuill's remix of Post War Years' "All Eyes” - and so should you!

Bad Books “The After Party”

We can't wait for Bad Books' new album, II, which drops on Triple Crown Records next month! Check this cut, "The After Party,” to hear why, bro! Just wait for the riff assault at the end!

Hundred Waters “Thistle”

Hundred Waters “Are:Or”

Say hello to Hundred Waters, a Florida five-piece recently signed to Skrillex's OWSLA imprint! Get down with their trippy folktronica by grabbing two free downloads from the band up top – “Thistle” and “Are:Or” Yay!

Saint Lou Lou “Maybe You (Montauk Remix)”

Montauk has just remixed Swedish-Australian twins Saint Lou Lou's track, "Maybe You." It's a mega-melancholic take on the sisters' sexy synth pop. Big love!

Peaches “Burst!”

Holy crap, Batman! PEACHES IS BACK! We have waited three years for "Burst,” an extra dirty electro track that has been produced by Boys Noize & XXXchang! Killer work from those bros!

Balam Acab “Await”

Balam Acab “Dream Out”

Can we cream over Balam Acab for one moment? We can? Okay, cool! Check out the ambient “Await” (from 2011's WANDER/WONDER) and the magical “Dream Out” (from 2010's See Birds EP), above. This bro is our new favorite knob twiddler!

Jessica Bailiff “Take Me To The Sun”

Slowcore veteran, Jessica Bailiff, has just dropped her first solo album in six years, At the Down-Turned Jagged Rim of the Sky. Here is our favorite track from said album, "Take Me To The Sun."

Death Grips “Deep Web”

So in honor of Death Grips defying their label and dropping their new album, NO LOVE DEEP WEB, contraband stylee, enjoy album cut, “Deep Web.” Stefan Burnett KILLS IT here! Death Grips – we salute you!
