BEST NEW VIDEOS - WEEK 5 2014

2/2/14

Get your iPhone out, because you’re about to #SELFIE this sh*t. This week’s epic Best Music Videos features some killer knife-throwing action, kids raving like there’s no tomorrow, a Danish princess of fresh, sk8er love, Painted Palms and Paramore. Yeah, I couldn’t believe that last one either. But hey, we’re here, some of us are queer, and we’re ready to party! Fetch some skittles and red bull. You’ll need them.

WE ARE SHINING X ELIZA DOOLITTLE - KILLING

Londoners do crazy things in their music videos, and this one is pretty high up there among the craziest we’ve seen. I sure hope that dancer got paid a whole bunch of cash because having knifes thrown at you while you act that cool has to make you wet your pants, even just a little.

MØ – DON’T WANNA DANCE

To be fair, the title of this video is a bit off. I mean, this Danish fresh-to-death fox clearly does want to dance, but only with other sexy mo mo’s. I see bright things in MØ’s future and they’re going to be just as funky as this jam.

EMA – SATELLITES

Woaw! Holy Sci-Fi, Batman. I guess EMA are pretty out there with music videos, but besides that cool blonde haircut and the mysteriously mesmerizing plot to this video, I just can’t watch a cat eat a dead bird. It’s gross! But I know some of you freaks are totally into that, so enjoy pervs.

DUBVISION & FIREBEATZ - ROCKIN

Kids at raves = the sad future. Gosh, when this new trend kicks off, who knows what the world will end up like. That’s some scary sh* t, man. Aw, but don’t they all just look so cute. I wanna squish their faces. And I wish they served juice boxes at the raves I go to.

SUN GLITTERS – ONLY YOU

That girl reminds me of an old school Avril Lavigne, or it is Kroeger now? Gag! Anyway, it’s like a 2014 remake of Sk*er Boi, and I love it. Skate rat culture is sexy and I don’t care what you have to say about it. Well to be honest, anything that’s not Chad Kroeger is cool with me.

NEON TREES – SLEEPING WITH A FRIEND

It’s the 80s again. Hooray! Neon Trees totally has a Scissor Sisters thing going on, don’t you think? OMG, that dancing shark is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. Look out for him in the background! Someone bring me that dancing shark right now, and I’ll pay you greatly in cheese and music video references.

PAINTED PALMS – FOREVER

This band. Wow. This is totes my favorite music video of the week, because what’s better than a band that sounds like Blur and trippy, surreal floating shapes. NOTHING! Check out Painted Palms if you don’t know them yet.

PARAMORE – AIN’T IT FUN

Paramore is one of those bands that I had a total connection with when I was 13, but ten years later they’re a bit lame. Luckily, this music video is not lame at all. Actually it’s pretty damn great. That sh*t looks like fun, it’s a pity I don’t have a pop music video budget or the energy.

MOLLY BEANLAND - NIGHT DREAMS

This music video is weird right from the very start. Maybe that’s why we like it so much. A whole lot of naked, a great song and some familiar faces - what more do you need!? However, this is not what my night dreams consist of. Well, maybe just that one scene in the pool.

BEAR HANDS - AGORA

I feel like this is exactly what I’m like during a breakup, except filterer. Now I can’t decide if I feel like being alone or hugging that long-haired angel.

THE 1975 – SETTLE DOWN

Personally I don’t get The 1975’s appeal, but you all seem to like them very, very much, so here’s a music video with some sort of a plot. Don’t ask me what it’s about because I have no idea, but black and white is cool, no?!

THE CHAINSMOKERS - #SELFIE

FINALLY! Why hasn’t anyone done this sooner? Love, love, love it. I love it so much that I’m going to take a selfie right now. Oh hell yeah, and a cameo by The Hof. Nothing could beat this bad boy!

There you have it, folks! This week’s best new video videos wrapped up in a tight little bundle just the way you like it – with an extra dose of sexy weirdness. Now share this critter like it’s the last thing you’ll ever do and hit us up in the comment section or Bitcandy’s social media plugs to tell me how much you love me. Or hate me. YOUR CHOICE!

About Bianca Fernandes

Bianca Fernandes has an unfounded love for Taylor Swift and an unexplainable, burning hatred for Bob Dylan. In her opinion, that's the perfect combination to be a music reviewer. And she doesn't give an F about what you have to say about it. She writes for one person, and that's herself. Think grumpy cat with a weakness for music and watching Miley Cyrus twerk. But she does other things simply for cash, like social media, web content creation and some crazy blogging when necessary.
