BEST NEW MUSIC: TOM MISCH - MOVIE
These are all words I would use to describe Tom Misch’s “Movie” if men in ski masks that have kidnapped my dog forced me to ramble off a list of words that accurately describe this song. I’m not being forced, but then again I would have to say that wouldn’t I? Is Tom Misch all part of this vast conspiracy or completely unrelated? Is this UK singer/songwriter/producer out to get me personally or is he just writing a great song and really have nothing to do with the situation at hand whatsoever?
Definitely the latter.
TOM MISCH - MOVIE
Well damn, I’ve used up all of the vocabulary I had prepared for this song already, didn’t I? Well let’s try anyways.
“Movie” is a splendid little neo-soul tune with stunning guitar riffs and heartbroken (yet also at the same time calm and collected) vocals. It reminds me of Sam Smith or Nick Murphy in all the best ways. The 21 year-old South Londoner has turned this track into quite the family affair with Tom’s sister Polly on the vocal sample at the start of the track and his “mum, Carol” producing the artwork. How CUTE!
With the likes of Annie Mac, Zane Lowe and iamnobodi paying attention to this beat-maker songwriter, should’t you?
“Movie” is the newest single from Tom Misch’s debut album Geography due out April 6th 2018. Damn, that’s a long time. You might as well just pre-order it now so you don’t forget, plus it gives you first access to Tom’s EU and North American tour dates. Psst they’re also on his Facebook (but you didn’t hear that from me.)
From deep within the murky depths of the Los Angeles River emerged a creature: 50% raver, 50% comedian, 10% Robotcop. Kurt Kroeber doesn’t own a dog, operates Soundbleed (the world’s only dance party comedy talk show rave), and is down to party with you. Come up some time and say “Hey dude!” But definitely make sure to casually drop the secret Illuminati password.
