BEST (NEW) OLD TRACKS: BJORK "I REMEMBER YOU"

8/24/14

Depending on your time scale, the word "new" can mean almost anything. Take for instance the lifespan of this Earth, with that as our unit of measurement we can safely call the Björk b-side a top new song.

Originally recorded for the Icelandic Princess's second album, Debut (IRONY!), "I Remember You" first saw the light of day as the other song on the "Venus As A Boy" single. It's a low-key, swelling love song that likely didn't make the final cut for Debut because of its similarities to "Like Someone In Love." The lyrics are epic, emotive, and only saccharine if you're pissed off at love or life in general. Check 'em out below:

Björk "I Remember You" Lyrics

I remember you
You're the one
That made my dreams come true
A few kisses ago

I remember you
You're the one
That said, "I love you too
Didn't you know?"

I remember too
A distant bell
And stars that fell
Like rain, out of the blue

When my life is through
And the angels ask me to recall
The thrill of them all
I shall tell them I remember you

I remember you
You're the one
That made my dreams come true
A few kisses ago

I remember you,
You're the one
That said, "I love you too
Didn't you know?"

I remember too
A distant bell
And stars that fell
Like rain, out of the blue

When my life is through
And the angels ask me to recall
The thrill of them all
I shall tell them I remember you

Oh, you
Oh, you
You

And now that you've done your homework, you're ready to listen to the song.

BJÖRK "I REMEMBER YOU"

Speaking of "Like Someone In Love," this gives us an excuse to run some video of Björk in that absurd yellow dress during her MTV Unplugged Episode.

The most beautiful woman in the world....yes, probably.

BJÖRK "LIKE SOMEONE IN LOVE"

Debut is now of legal drinking age in the United States. Goodness.

Thanks for stopping by Bitcandy, where we remember you.
