BEST NEW SONG: TYLA YAWEH - SHE BAD

10/31/18

A few short years ago Orlando rapper Tyla Yaweh was working part-time at Dunkin Donuts as a cover for his real earnings selling drugs. Like all lies, this one was eventually was found out and Tyla’s mother kicked him out of the house. Fast forward to now and Yaweh is the newest signing to Post Malone and Dre London’s label London Entertainment with a pair of hits on Spotify that have over 5 million plays between them. Dude has also played to raucous live crowds at SXSW and as the opener on Malone’s Beerbongs & Bentleys Tour. As he gears up for his highly anticipated debut F The Rules, Tyla has given us the dancefloor-ready jam “She Bad.”

A sultry, funk-infused R&B number complete with some psychedelic artwork, “She Bad” finds Tyla mesmerized by the dance moves of a mysterious lady. Bizness Boi (best known for his work with PartyNextDoor, Quavo, and Swae Lee) provided the trippy, hypnotic beat. The song’s instantly catchy, King of Pop-referencing chorus sounds like one we’ll be hearing for a long time.

For an artist who’s known for his infectious energy, Tyla sounds laidback, and dare we say ‘chill’ on this track. Smooth is perhaps the aptest description of his sing-songy flow here. Whatever words you want to use to describe, it sounds good as hell. Find out for yourself now.

TYLA YAWEH - SHE BAD

In regards to his aforementioned debut record, Tyla had this to say to Billboard: “It’s called Fuck the Rules, but we’re calling it F the Rules for marketing purposes. It’s about not staying in a box and not obeying the music rules that say: 'You have to stay in one lane.”

It should be out at the top of the new year, though no release date has been set yet. According to MR. Yaweh, it’s 90% done. In the meantime he’ll be touring, peep dates and venues below.

Calvin Paradise is not any one thing. The half-hearted vagabond and forgetful luddite currently resides in Los Angeles and how he spends his time is none of your damned business.
