BEST NEW SONGS: NAOMI ELIZABETH - CHOEUR DES GAMINS

11/1/15

The internet is a very strange place that can lead you down some mesmerizingly weird rabbit holes. I’m in the midst of one right now only I’ve come up for air to report what I’ve found and share this gorgeous and strangely haunting song with all of you.

Naomi Elizabeth is an exceptional artist trying to make her way in Los Angeles. She’s published two books, has an extensive modeling portfolio, and over a dozen music videos. She also recently rearranged a classic section from the French Romanticist composer Georges Bizet's opera, Carmen. If that last sentence seemed like a mouthful, that’s because it was. From what I gleaned from the two minutes of Ms. Elizabeth’s audiobook I was able to make it through, she’s EXACTLY the type of LA Hipster who’d cover a foreign composer who died 140 years ago.

Have I mentioned yet that this is probably the prettiest thing I’ve heard all year? It’s so stupidly smart that I can barely wrap my head around it. Who the fuck is this woman?

If her books are any good I’m going to be very angry because you shouldn’t allowed to be excellent at that many things.

NAOMI ELIZABETH “CHOEUR DES GAMINS”

I'll leave you with the scene from the opera she transformed. We’re through the looking glass, you guys.
