Mayer Hawthorne "Her Favorite Song w/J Ware"

5/30/13

I've been buying Mayer Hawthorne stock ever since I heard "I Wish It Would Rain," a song that's not a cover of the The Temptations' song of the same name (calling it an allusion to the band seems to weak, probably because Hawthorne's whole career seems like an allusion to The Temptations). His third studio album, Where Does This Door Go, is due out this year, and he just released the first single off it: "Her Favorite Song (Feat. Jessie Ware)."

Now I think Mayer Hawthorne's "Her Favorite Song (Feat. Jessie Ware)" qualifies for our best new tracks post, and my editors here at Bitcandy agreed with me. It's a lovely little number and really the only quibble one could have is that Ware is underutilized (I'd agree with that).

Listen to Mayer Hawthorne "Her Favorite Song (Feat. Jessie Ware)" below, and decide for yourself if it's a best new tracks or not. (You can even let your choice be known in the comments, unless you're too shy.)

Mayer Hawthrone's Where Does This Door Go is due out 7/16 via Republic. Peep the trailer for it below:

As always, thanks for visiting Bitcandy. Please do so again (and frequently).
