Best New Tracks: Wavves "That's On Me"

4/8/13

In case you haven't heard, Nathan Williams, a.k.a Wavves, went full-on 90's grunge on his new record, Afraid of Heights. The end result is a mixed bag with some phenomenal highlights (seems like a pretty succinct summary of Williams whole career).

One such highlight off AoH (as I'm sure some people are calling it) is today's best new track, "That's On Me."

The track sounds like it arrived out of time machine. Both sonically and thematically, "That's On Me" could easily be a b-side to one of the Nirvana or Alice in Chains album that came out when Williams was starting elementary school.

This one's a slow burn for sure. At first I was nonplussed by it and now I can't get it out of my head.
