BEST OF WEEKLY NEWSLETTER - WEEK 11

3/16/14

Hi guys! We've spent our entire week at SXSW in Austin, Texas up to our knees in hipster blood, sweat, and when we were at Lady Gaga's show, vomit, but nothing, we repeat, nothing is going to stop us from filtering through the blogosphere for the Best of Indie, Electro, PopSmut and Chill Out for your listening pleasure. By the way, no need to hire a performance artist, we're more than happy to vomit on you for free, Lady Gaga. Play us ARTPOP and we're blowing chunks for days on end!

“Happy Monday, and International Day Of Awesomeness! And what finer way to spend said holiday than in the company of BitCandy and their best indie songs? If you're unable to think of an answer, that's because there isn't one, douchebags! Anyways, thank you to the Curators who helped me out with this week's pickings from Dum Dum Girls, Editors, How To Dress Well and more. If you think you've got what it takes to contribute to any of my weekly roundups, go and sign up to be a Curator (read more...)”

“Apologies that this is up a bit later than usual, I spent the entire day hyper focused on all this new Skrillex shit and couldn't remember what day it was. We all know that Skrillex news is more important than anything else that could possibly be going on with your life. Work? Play? Honestly, I could care less. Skrillex's new album, Recess, is streaming. There are Eleven new Skrillex songs! Yeah, streaming on 'Alien Ride,' Skrillex's iPhone App designed by Sus Boy (the world's greatest living artist)! I don't understand how you could care about anything else but this as much as you should be caring about this. I know I don't. I actually got super distracted today and didn't do anything but listen to them over and over and over again. I can't be blamed for anything that did or didn't happen today because of it. (I forgot to walk my dog.) Plus tour dates got announced today! He's on tour with Dillon Francis and What so Not and hmmmm those dates end suspiciously right on EDC LV weekend. Okay cool. Okay fuck yeah. A very merry skrillbirthday to me (read more...)”

About Jess Grant

When Jess Grant isn't writing on music, she can be found playing it – on her guitar, on her ukulele, and on her recently acquired mandolin. Playing it hideously, she ought to add. Jess also studies. She studies the English language, to be precise. Jess is currently on her way to a degree in the subject, and enjoys starting and never finishing novels, screenplays, and poetry in her spare time. She also likes dogs. Lots of dogs.
