What's up, everybody? BitCandy is here to tell you what's f*cking up. Easter is over for yet another year, we've eaten our bodyweight in chocolate and everything sucks. But it's all good as, once again, it's time for this week's Best of Indie, Electro and PopSmut. Anyways, not long until the summer finally arrives. We better start working on our bikini bodies. Repeat after us. One, two, three, twerk.

top indie bands

“By the time you read this, the first weekend of Coachella is already going to seem like a drunken memory. It's Saturday evening at the time of writing, and so far the only thing worth noting is that Outkast are as overrated as I remembered. That, and bindis are still very much a thing. Anyways, let's leave that hipster shit to the Kardashians as it's time for some top indie bands. Shout out to the Curators who helped with this week's pickings from Lykke Li, Arcade Fire, Little Dragon and more (read more...)”

“Coachella was this weekend and I wasn't there per se, but I did go to Indio to try and sneak in to all the No-Chella parties. Armed with a Go-Pro on my head, I did get into Coachella parking lot, before the FIRST security guard on the way to the campgrounds was like, 'come on dude, fuck off.' So I did fuck off, partied with Disclosure at the LED Hard Rock Hotel and then after partied with my homies at their house in Indio. It's just magical being down there. You can feel the party in the air and the dust in your lungs. Whatever, I'll be there next weekend, so expect my post to be a little late (and make about as much sense as a man with one remaining brain cell can make). Can't wait. Here are some songs to tide you (and me, specifically me) over until Thursday (read more...)”

“I don't know about you, but after the way the first half of the week, I am in serious need of an escape from reality. And what better way to mentally escape than hip thrusting my frustrations to the sound of the latest and best indie pop songs that the internet has to offer. A dose of the tracks below will jolt any hipster dead or hungover back to life. And if this list not enough, just wait till Friday for a Part Two (read more...)”

That's it for this week's Best of Indie, Electro and PopSmut, but BitCandy and the team of Curators are back on Friday with even more music from the blogosphere. If you've got what it takes to be a Curator, why not sign up? But don't think for a second that sh*t means you can stop twerking. We want to be able to dip that ass in gold by the end of April. So, repeat after us. One, two, three, twerk.

About Jess Grant

When Jess Grant isn't writing on music, she can be found playing it – on her guitar, on her ukulele, and on her recently acquired mandolin. Playing it hideously, she ought to add. Jess also studies. She studies the English language, to be precise. Jess is currently on her way to a degree in the subject, and enjoys starting and never finishing novels, screenplays, and poetry in her spare time. She also likes dogs. Lots of dogs.
