When was the last time you were complimented and insulted at the same time? For me, it only happens when I see my mother … often ... but that’s a story for my therapist. I ask this because if I wanted to be insulted I’d want it to come from indie songstress Billie Marten. Not only can she serve up a cheeky song, but she can also humanize those who don’t look or act human.
Her single “Cartoon People” is based on a fictional yet probably accurate appraisal of Donald Trump from the perspective of his daughter. It’s a sweet lullaby-like production that makes you sympathize with Ivanka ….NOT!!! But “Cartoon People” does make you feel better about your thoughts towards the current Prez of America.
