BEST CHILL OUT MUSIC - WEEK 22 2014

5/29/14

I don’t know what you’ve been up to this week, but if it’s been anything like the others, you’ve come to the right place. It’s time to chill out hard and forget about all that other shit that’s been bugging you. Yeah, I mean life in general. Grab some munchies, put away whatever new addictive app you’re fiddling with and give life a big, old middle finger because this is your time. Well, actually it’s my time, but you’re welcome to get cozy. Wink, Wink.

HUNDRED WATERS - MURMURS

Murmurs from Hundred Waters is just about the best way to kick off a chill out sess. Actually their entire new album titled The Moon Rang Like a Bell is one, long chill session that’ll get you so deep into your own mind, you might never escape. But why would you want to when you’ve got such killer tunes to listen to?! My absolute favourite part of Murmurs is about half way through and goes as follows: “Yesterday was your birthday. Happy birthday."

KID606 – MAN: THE FAILED CHILD (LIVE)

Kid606’s latest EP is said to be the end of his pursuit of happiness and is appropriately titled “Happier.” This live track is the first number off the EP and is pretty relaxing for an electro song. You can download the entire Happier EP for freeeeeee, and we know how you people like free shit.

BLOOD ORANGE – IT IS WHAT IT IS

This is one chill out track that you’ll get into right from the beginning. As the layers pile up, sink deep into a state of mind that’s not only mellow, but almost like a mantra. Let your worries fade away and get into this new jam from Blood Orange, off the album Cupid Deluxe.

Also, if you’ve got Anxiety or are just really into Devonte Hynes aka Blood Orange, you better click on that link back there. MIND = BLOWN!

MAYA JANE COLES – LOST IN THE CITY

London’s Maya Jane Coles is lost in the city and she’s making some really kicked back tracks on her deluxe debut album, Comfort. This is pretty much the best track on the album, and if you’re digging it right now, you’ll totally love the rest of the album. Talk about mesmerising vocals! Hot damn!

GALLANT – ZEBRA EP

It’s your lucky day! Gallant’s new Zebra EP is 28 minutes of pure bliss and we’ve included the whole thing in this here playlist. Now aren’t you happy you visited Bitcandy today? I sure am, but that’s just because I like your attention. Now shhhhhh! You’re missing all the good bits.

YUJEN – HEIRLOOM

Off Yujen’s No Aware EP, Heirloom is definitely the most chilled out track of the day. These Australian kids know what’s up when it comes to music that feels like it seeps through your pores and fills up your entire body, leaving you full of liquid happiness. P-E-R-F-E-C-T! Don’t leave their page without listening to the full EP. Seriously!

LUST FOR YOUTH - ARMIDA

I looooooove this! Really, I do. You know when you’re alone and you put on a track, close your eyes and dance embarrassingly in your underwear? This is one of those tracks and dance in your underwear is a must! Just do it. DO IT NOW!

SEEKAE – TEST & RECOGNISE

You can see this as a teaser track for Seekae’s upcoming album, The Worry. And if you’re looking at it that way, then you’re going to want to preorder that sucker. Those vocals are perfectly paired with the almost sci-fi feeling of the track and if you ask me, I’d float around in space listening to this track any day. 3, 2, 1, LIFT OFF!

U2 – WITH OR WITHOUT YOU (HENRI PFR & KISO REMIX)

Add this to your summer playlist RIGHT NOW! Whether you’re a massive U2 fan or even if Bono gives you the creeps, this track from Henri PFR and Kiso is super chill and perfect for any summer scenario. Even the cover art makes me want to strip down and jump into a mass of water.

-

Well, that’s all folks! That was one helluva trip. Thanks for sharing and commenting because you know we love you just as much as you love us. Well, some of you creep us out, but most of you are cool. If you just can’t get enough of that lush chill out shit, you know what to do. Without you, I’d be hella lonely and that’s no fun! SO SHOW US SOME LOVE, FOOLS!

About Bianca Fernandes

Bianca Fernandes has an unfounded love for Taylor Swift and an unexplainable, burning hatred for Bob Dylan. In her opinion, that's the perfect combination to be a music reviewer. And she doesn't give an F about what you have to say about it. She writes for one person, and that's herself. Think grumpy cat with a weakness for music and watching Miley Cyrus twerk. But she does other things simply for cash, like social media, web content creation and some crazy blogging when necessary.
