DJ GOT THE JUICE - LATE NIGHT FT. DEJAMES, JAH, AND BLXDE

1/19/18

My aesthetic is almost always at a “Casual Witch who’s into Football,” but sometimes I dabble in the occasional “3 AM Tumblr Skeez who watches Volleyball Anime.”

This next incredibly talented producer that I’m about to hype up resonates deeply with the latter side of me. This fire track is called “Late Night,” it’s by DJ Got the Juice, and if Chance the Rapper ever watched Inuyasha on Toonami when he was a kid, it would probably sound like this.

DJ GOT THE JUICE - LATE NIGHT

Not to sound kitschy, but “Late Night” is such a delightful gem from a producer who clearly loves making music. Got the Juice, or Dejames, provides most of the vocals alongside two other artists, and the result is a unique and innovative hip hop track that can easily outshine every producer on the radio right now. There are layers of innovation in this four-minute track.

I mean, just listen to it! It’s lively, large, and bright -- and remember that sincerity I mentioned? It’s all in the lyrics. The “Late Night” lyrics sound like a guy in love and is performed like a grand romantic gesture. “You are not alone” is suddenly a sweet mantra that almost makes me forget that Singles Awareness Day is right around the corner!

It looks like Dejames doesn’t plan on sleeping through 2018 -- he’s already released a couple more tracks since “Late Night.” Keep an ear tuned to his Soundcloud. In the meantime, maybe he can answer my DMs on what animes to watch this spring...
