Got $100? Get Featured w/Flaming Lips

9/8/11

Flaming Lips follow up their 12-part YouTube track, gummy fetus, and mind-bending Lightning Bolt collab with another wacko idea this September.

Yes, it appears Wayne Coyne has awoke (wait, does Wayne Coyne even sleep?) to another light bulb psychedelically flashing atop his frizzy head. The Oklahoma band's latest escapade is to record a six-hour track titled "Found a Star on the Ground," with fans able to pay $100 to get their name inserted into the lyrics.

Such outlandish hullabaloo is all in the name of charity, of course, with proceeds going towards Oklahoma Humane Society and the University of Central Oklahoma's Academy of Contemporary Music.
