INDIE POP - WEEK 2 2015

1/7/15

Since I figured you all might need a cleanser after putting up with all the festivities and the slight weight gain, here’s an all new list of addictive indie pop music. If the following tunes don’t help you shed those extra holiday pounds, they’ll at least help ease you back into reality. We’ve got a little something for everyone. Enjoy the following from Loosid, Jack Ü, Icekream and more.

JOHN MAYER - FREE FALLIN (LOOSID REMIX)

Just as I’m thinking that there is not enough experimental boundary pushing music rolling in through our radar, I get slapped in the face with producer Loosid. His attractive cover of John Mayer’s ‘Free Falling’ is a sensual affair with experimental house music. Prepare to fall in love with the sound above.

BEYONCE - 7/11 (JACK Ü MIX)

I did not think it possible to take the ratchet sound out of Beyonce’s single 7/11. Diplo and Skrillex cleaned up the mess and delivered a song that oozes sexiness.

BEBE REXHA - I’M GONNA SHOW YOU CRAZY

Do you really want to piss off sexy indie pop singer Bebe and have her show you crazy? I think not. Her single ‘I’m gonna show you crazy” is an angrier and less subtle version of any Taylor Swift song. It’s the kind of track that scares you the more you listen to it.

OLIVVER THE KID - LUCY (ACOUSTIC)

Bryan Sammis aka Olivver is one artist that I’m most excited to see develop in 2015. The stripped back version of ‘Lucy’ just reaffirms my opinion that he’s a solo artist who shows promise and shine.

ICEKREAM - PETER PAN FT STURF

At first listen Peter Pan sounds all sorts of creepy. Once I got over the creepiness and replayed it, I noticed that there is an effortless feel to the production. Focusing on living large, never growing up, and pissing in pans, it’s a track you’ll be drawn to.

MR. PROBZ - NOTHING REALLY MATTERS (KAV VERHOUZER REMIX)

Some remixes are so much more nicer than the original and this one right here by producer Kav Verhouzer is spellbinding. By far the favorite of the bunch this week. The sound is truly magical.

IDFWU (BOBBY SHMURDA x BIG SEAN x CAVALIER REMIX)

Cavalier knows how to deliver tasty interpretations of hot singles. He brings an ambitious sound to our playlist this week. The remix above delivers a laidback energy that begs to be played again and again and again.

VANIC X K.FLAY - MADE ME FADE

Sweet geezus. This is the kind of sound that makes me go weak in the knees. Vanic’s latest material is impressive. The laid back futuristic house sound along with vocals from K.Flay make this track irresistible. I could marinade in this for days.

RUELLE  - UP IN FLAMES

Ruelle’s haunting track wraps up this week’s playlist. As a first time feature here on BitCandy, I am really looking forward to seeing what the Nashville natives have to offer.

That’s all for now. I’ll be back with more alternative indie pop songs in Part 2. See ya all tomorrows.

About Beca Arredondo

Beca Arredondo is easily unamused with all things not related to her interests. On her good days you can catch her avoiding the California sun and glued to her Mac plotting the next big thing. If you happen to run into her on the street and notice her wearing headphones do NOT disturb her. She is not responsible for any possible damage. Aside from the above she's very sweet and perky and responds well to good music and food.
