LYKKE LI "NO REST FOR THE WICKED"

4/13/14

In describing her top new song, "No Rest for the Wicked," Swedish bombshell Lykke Li said, "I’d just gotten out of a relationship and it was a horrible time. I just had the hurt, shame, sadness, guilt, longing." Anyone who's listened to the lyrics or seen the music video for the track (which is available for your viewing pleasure below) promptly responded with, "NO SH*T SHERLOCK."

"No Rest For The Wicked" is the second single off Lykke Li's third record, I Never Learn, which is due out next month. Like all of the best Lykke Li songs, this one is an emotionally-charged ballad with minimalistic verses and a swelling chorus. Both this cut and the visuals provided in the music video tell a heartbreaking tale of a relationship that ran its course. If you find yourself in the midst of a breakup or on the cusp of one, you may want to avoid this track. Otherwise it's a really great song.

Big ups to whatever Waynes brother starred in this video with Ms. Li.
