LINSTROM & CHRISTABELLE "LOOKING FOR WHAT (SINGLE EDIT)"

12/6/13

Danish disco virtuoso Lindstrøm, a.k.a the man who rarely goes by Hans-Peter, is a criminally underrated artist who never quite gets the respect he deserves because of his niche genre. Teaming up with singer Christabelle, to create the obviously named duo Lindstrøm & Christabelle, Hans has yet another best new track: "Looking for What."

Christabelle (which means 'beautiful Christian') originally went by the name Solale. Why she went through the trouble of changing her name is anyones guess (feel free to add yours in the comments). Solale appeared on two previous tracks with Lindstrøm, "Music (In My Mind)" and "Let's Practise" respectively. So while this duo had some familiarity, I don't think anyone was expecting a full-length record from them. Who cares though, the more Lindstrøm in your life, the better.

If "Looking For What" is any indication of what Lindstrøm & Christabelle record is going to sound like, then space disco aficionados better stock up on kleenex boxes. For just under six minutes you're treated to the sort of pop-disco stylings future people will hustle to on Venus. "Looking For What" has a bit more of a pop slant than most of Lindstrøm's other work, but you certainly won't hear us complaining. Christabelle has a way of making Lindstrøm's woozy beats seem funkier. It's a nice change of pace that is likely to hook Hans some new fans. Even if it doesn't, it's hard to imagine someone disliking "Looking For What." Find out if you agree by listening below:

LINDSTRØM & CHRISTABELLE "LOOKING FOR WHAT (SINGLE EDIT)"

Lindstrøm & Christabelle's debut album, Real Life Is No Cool, is set to drop on January 19th, thanks to Smalltown Supersound. If you pre-order it from Rough Trade you receive a bonus disc of Lindstrøm's 40 minute cut of the Holiday classic, "Little Drummer Boy." Do with that information what you will.

Thanks for stopping by Bitcandy, where we'll never stop looking for what.
