NEW INDIE POP: GALANTIS & THROTTLE - TELL ME YOU LOVE ME

9/20/17

Summer is almost over, but here at We Are: The Guard, the hot music keeps on coming. Galantis has finally released their follow-up album called The Aviary. Don't worry. All of the kitty goodness is baked right in.

GALANTIS & THROTTLE - TELL ME YOU LOVE ME

The music producing duo called Galantis consists of the Grammy-winning pedigree of Christian Karlsson and the equally talented Linus Eklöw, known as by the pseudonym Style of Eye. Both hailing from Sweden, it further proves that the electronic genre is flourishing in the Nordic Circle. Over the span of a fortnight in 2014, Galantis released their debut track and played at the world famous Coachella. Nearly two years since their rookie effort, Pharmacy, the Swedish duo finally dropped their long-awaited sequel called The Aviary.

soundcloud “Tell Me You Love Me” is a bubbly, upbeat pop number featuring Aussie youngster and disco revivalist Throttle and the uncredited vocals from Sarah Aarons. If you have listened to Pharmacy, the first thing that comes to mind is how much this song differs from the tracks on their previous album and even some of the accompanying songs on this one. There is a surprising lack of beats per minutes. Instead, “Tell Me You Love Me” is a level-headed composition where the duo injects a fair amount of steady, danceable beats with the proper amount of harmony, supplied nicely by Aaron's vocals.

The Aviary seems like a much needed project to explore the versatility of Galantis's musical capabilities. “Tell Me You Love Me” is a great effort that balances the high, adrenaline-pumping house jams with something featuring a bit more Umami, or hearty.
