R3HAB VS. VINI VICI - ALIVE (FEAT. PANGEA & DEGO)

I had this friend, many moons ago, who was unable to afford EDC tickets because his cat needed emergency surgery. Then, magically, he won a contest! Two free tickets from R3hab. Right there in his Facebook messages inbox. Except it was that other Facebook inbox. The one nobody looks at. And he didn’t see the message until after the festival. It was tragic. But the cat got better and the world moves on, and here I am today writing about the new R3hab song for We Are: The Guard. Why do I bring this story up? Because R3hab holds a special place in my heart, regardless of that moment's outcome, for giving my buddy a break when he needed one. And that’s what good EDM is. It feels like a breakthrough the hard times. Uplifting progressive house can make you feel some kind of way even when the world is beating down on you. White noise seeping under positive-tinged vocals with the ability to transcend time and space and whatever bullshit is going on in your life to just make you forget about it all and dance.

R3hab and Vini Vici have crafted the kind of EDM banger that’s got a life of its own.  Whether played by one of the four acts on the track, or another DJ, this one is bound to get the heart racing, the feet stomping and the face smiling.  Isn’t that what the best dance music is all about?
