BEST NEW TRACKS: TRUST "CAPITOL"

2/13/14

We've already claimed that Trust's forthcoming album, Joyland, is one of the best albums of 2014, so when the latest track from it leaked, well we just had to say "Capitol" was a top new song.

Part synth-pop, part four-on-the-floor electronic banger, "Capitol" is one of the best cuts on Joyland. Robert Alfons' somber, fuzzy vocals perfectly contrast the songs shimmery beat. Perhaps more than another track on the record, "Capitol" best embodies what makes Trust so damned great. Here you have a melodic piece of dream pop that could easily double as some spooky electronica nightmare. Or maybe it's just a Goth love song. I don't know, but I know that I love the dichotomy at play here, and really this song in general.

I called this song as the next single for Trust, and since the leak is the new single, I'd just like to take a moment to have everyone acknowledge what a badass I am. Hear it for yourself below (the song, not how much of a badass I am…).
