BEST NEW ELECTRONIC: TWIN SHADOW FEAT. RAINSFORD - BRACE

3/27/18

Remember that one time I was raving about talented-AF Rainsford and kept gushing over her collaboration with Twin Shadow? Well guys, I hope you can *BRACE* yourself………. Get it? Do you guys….? Oh, hell.

Don’t pay attention to me. Instead, here’s Twin Shadow returning that guest feature favor with an exciting return into music. “Brace” is a quirky song about developing feelings and it’s so cute, it makes me want to give love another chance. I guess I’m redownloading Tinder tonight...

TWIN SHADOW FEAT. RAINSFORD - BRACE

“Brace” starts with a sharp, striking synth (that eerily reminds me of Uffie’s “Art of Uff,” I really can’t unhear it -- and shout out to everyone who remembers Uffie...) that then leads into Twin Shadow’s sappy but relatable lyrics. “She’s dancing in your headlights, drifting,” he sings, which implies to me that our hero in this story’s got it bad. Contain yourself, George!

Rainsford joins him in the bright, flowery chorus, and though the feature is subtle, the nuance she adds is appreciated. Listen to “Brace” when you’re thinking about that special someone, or when you’re thinking about the concept of having a special someone. Aha. #SingleForever. Totally kidding. I’m fine.

Also, “Tom Petty waiting on a free fall” is THE best lyric I have heard all year. Where have you BEEN, Twin Shadow!?

If there’s anything you need to get out of this post, it’s that Twin Shadow is probably gearing up to release a LOT of new music soon. So stay tuuuuuned! This’ll be huge.
